Rhea's booking is bad. She should be booked as a powerhouse singles competitor, not being wasted in thrown together tag teams for a couple of weeks. She's the best in that women's division and should be in the top tier chasing the Raw women's title. Hell, give her the Chyna push and have her win the US Title at some point.

Random post but by my count, I believe Dana Brooke, Doudrop, Alexa Bliss, Tamina, and Nikki ASH are the only main roster wrestlers that didn't have a match at WrestleMania or in the Andre battle royal. This only includes people that were active at the time, so no injured wrestlers or Veer Mahaan.

They had so many female wrestlers in matches at WrestleMania that they couldn't do the women's battle royal.

They didn't have enough women to do a battle royal. They don't want to mix NXT with main roster apart from special cases.

Rhea, yes, her booking has been bad. But the alternative would've been not having a spot at all. Sasha got bumped down too after they got Ronda signed.

WWE should do away with all their secondary championships.

Each of the three brands should have it's own:

Men's Champ
Women's Champ
Men's Tag Champs
Women's Tag Champs

Secondary titles serve no purpose really in today's era. They were created before the era of brand splits under one company and the massive rise of women's wrestling as a legit draw. I'd argue WWE hasn't created a true star using the old "mid-card title method" in 20 years. Who is the last guy who used the IC or US title to push himself to the main event scene? John Cena? Mid-card titles are a tired concept from an bygone era. And this is from someone who all I wanted as a kid was to be Intercontinental Champion like Randy Savage and Bret Hart.

They had a 2-night WM with 15 matches essentially and neither the US or IC title could find a place on either show. They probably do more harm than good at this point.

I don't even think there's a need for womens tag champions at this stage, honestly.

There's just too many makeshift random tag teams that make no sense. Like give it two weeks and it will be Natalya and Shotzi, or Liv and Tamina

Discounting the Bella's, have they ever had a true tag team in the women's division? Where both performers had the same gimmick? I don't think they have (trios don't count) and until they go down that road, the more I think about it a women's tag championship is pointless. I actually like the Liv and Ripley pairing as their ring gear is similar and their seems to be chemistry there.

Charlotte and Ronda could disappear tomorrow and I wouldn't care. Sasha is underutilized and they don't know or understand what they have in Bayley and Alexa Bliss IMO.

IMO, the main roster women's tag division in WWE is run like tag teams in "Road to Wrestlemania" on Wrestlemania 2000. You play as Edge and pick Christian as your partner, but eventually halfway through the game your team breaks up. You have a match against them and then yours and every other team randomly resets. The next time you have a tag match your partner could end up being Michael Hayes or Paul Bearer, while Christian ends up with Meat or Blue Meanie.

Not sure if this is unpopular but I'm watching through the Attitude Era (as if no one knew) almost all for the first time. I'm about to get to Backlash 2001. And JR is pushing the HELL out of this "bionic redneck" nickname for Stone Cold and it's TERRIBLE. Almost as bad as when they called Chyna a cyborg for however many weeks in 1997. Heard Heyman say McMahon thought "The Next Big Thing" would "suck" as a nickname for Lesnar too.

I shudder to think how much stupid shit we've seen was all Vince's idea and how many great ideas were put down

How dare you forget about The Funkadactyls.

LayCool was around for a couple years but can't remember if they wore similar ring gear. I agree with your point though.

Secondary titles have been useless for a long time, but I do think that they could have a purpose if handled properly. In the case of WWE, just go back in time and make it so that the guy who has the secondary title (one across all shows) is clearly being tabbed for the main event scene. Fans will care about what wrestlers win the title, and do not make it a title that main eventers slum with when they don't have an angle.

Basically I see it as a useful tool that hasn't been used well in a long time.

HHH deserves as much credit for the tail end of the AE and Ruthless Agression Era popularity as Rock/Austin

Many fans like to say he slept his way to the top or was "the guy who worked with the guy" and rode coattails, but I beg to differ.

Austin's peak was a hot as it was because of the Mr McMahon character. Without that heel that drew pure gut hate, Austin going over him wouldn't have been as big. HHH was that gut hate heel that elevated the overs of The Rock, Angle, Foley and late career Austin.

It takes a special talent to be that effective of a heel no matter which top face you were working with. It's not something that just anyone can do, it's a relatively unique talent and getting that over as a heel is just as impressive as getting over as a face on the level of an Austin or Rock

I don't know if these are unpopular, it's more that they probably don't even cross anyone's mind:

-After it was on display in the Brawl 4 All episode of Dark Side of The Ring, I've thought Droz deserves consideration for something like the Warrior Award for his really positive and forgiving outlook despite the hand he was dealt (and like him, I'm not blaming anyone) and the challenges he's had to overcome in the years since.
-That the negative reviews of his career in retrospect have more to do with the awful creative/booking he was given rather than his abilities or lack there of.

I actually was a big fan of Droz's look when I was a kid. So strange to lean into the piercing/tattoo subculture for his character and mostly leave out his history as a legit athlete. But that's the Attitude Era for you.

I was a fan of his at the time as well. and that's exactly where I was going to go with it. Seemed like they moved him up and put him on TV just so his alternative look/lifestyle and unique uh digestive talent could give Vince Russo a few more bullets to load into the crash TV pistol, rather that build on what potential he did possess like his obvious athletic background/ability and above average charisma and mic skills relative to how truly green he was to the business.

At the time of his injury, I would've comfortably put him ahead of Test in terms of total package ability.

Obviously the injury was the most unfortunate happening with his career. But the timing was also unfortunate in that it happened maybe just a few days before Russo left for WCW and we didn't get a chance to see what he could do with storylines that didn't revolve around drugs, vomiting, tattoos, piercings, sexual harassment or random male on male evening gown matches.

Not necessarily. US Title came into WWE existence after the first brand split.

Also not sure if this applies but Jeff Hardy was a multi time IC champion before getting his championship shots. Maybe Kofi Kingston too? RVD? (tho he was a "star" in Original ECW previously)

The US title came with WCW and they unified it with the European Title after the Invasion angle was over.

It didn't exactly have a good start in WWE either as well since Booker T brought it with him from WCW and just donated it to Kanyon like it meant nothing to him.

They took care of the US title when Lashley had it a few years ago, but it's been meaningless for a while again. Even when Priest had it and he was undefeated, it felt meaningless. It's too bad they didn't have the foresight to protect it now that Roman has both main titles on SmackDown. They could have at least temporarily elevated the US title on RAW for the time being. But given Vince's propensity for beating champions over and over again, I don't think he views them as anything other than props.

That's why Braun Strowman didn't hold titles for any length of time. Can't make champions out of giants when all you know to do is to beat champions. Lashley holding the US Title was more about protecting Lashley than the title.
