Reynolds didn’t play in the second half of the third or the overtime but was on the bench. Anyone see anything happen?

Literally came to say and ask the exact same thing….I didn’t notice anything, but I was watching sporadically.

I wonder if Carson got concussed…he was pretty wobbly looking skating off the ice.

Big game for Peer, who I thought was their best forward tonight with a number of scoring chances in addition to the two goals. Delafontaine played well after the two early goals.

I know Carson had a concussion earlier this year, if that’s a second one that’s tough …

They only had 17 skaters tonight, and that includes Blagden who didn’t get much time. I suspect Carson won’t play tomorrow either. That’s going to make for a tough game before even factoring in Reynolds (although I’m guessing if it was something serious he wouldn’t have been on the bench).

Last time UNB gave up 40+ shots was November.30 2013 vs Acadia.
Just came here to post that exact stat…been a long time since a UNB goalie was this busy. Pretty impressive two games for Delafontaine…sweeping the Acadia/SMU road weekend is never easy, let alone doing it in your first two starts.

Score was definitely not indicative of the game…I thought SMU played quite well. Maybe their best game against UNB this year. Turning point was the Huskies not converting on a long 5-on-3 to begin the 3rd period and then giving up a goal shortly after to Sproule to make it 3-1.

I agree that the score was closer than shown. Great game by Delafontaine. UNB did UNB things in the 3rd and SMU couldn't respond.

Off topic but have you guys heard much in regards to the rumours around the Red Wings moving to Bathurst . I’ve heard two versions of the same rumour , moving in 25-26 or moving in 26-27.
I've heard the same rumors as well as the Campbellton Tigers going to Bathurst and the Red Wings going to St. Stephen

St.Stephen deserves a team, at the Red Wings first home opener I sat by a group of 20+ people who had come down to watch their old team. With the SSHL “shutting down for the year” (aka folding) the Irishman are no more so they currently have no high level hockey, a very nice rink and people that are starved for hockey.

Glad to see they took my advice.
Makes the most sense as both teams play the 25th (Saturday) and then the 31st (Friday)….so two days off and then the game on the 28th and then two more days off. This is probably as fair as they could’ve made it for both teams.

I’m from the SS area and from what I’ve heard a big part of the reason they left was the lack of big-time sponsors. I am highly skeptical that situation has improved at all over the last few years.

Having said that, they do typically draw pretty good crowds down there for whatever the highest level of hockey is at the time.

It’s kind of a case where the places that have money don’t care about Jr.A hockey and the places that care about Jr.A hockey don’t have money. Most of my family is from Woodstock and the Slammers were always the talk of the town and the players were basically local celebrities…
My understanding is that Riverview Ford is paying a rather huge sum to be the “Riverview Ford Red Wings” that is keeping the team alive .. Kind of wonder if sponsorship dollars are going to be harder going forward with what happened this fall?
I would hate to see them leave , it filled a nice little niche as the cities “second team” after STU left but I don’t think Fredericton will support anything besides a Q team.
I’d honestly love to have a team in the Beausejour League, but again no one would support it , could possibly work in the Junction or Oromocto , I'm not sure

Mancini making his debut tonight. Carson is out, as expected.

Sounds like Reynolds might’ve just been benched last night.
Watching the video Mancini had a great shot that looked like his first goal, but apparently Sproule tipped it in.

Not sure if Reynolds is injured or in the dog house. He was moved off the top line with Sproule and Peer (subbing for Corbeil) in the SMU game, although he seemed to get a few shifts with Sproule near the end. Elliott got Reynold's spot, and looked good. Gotta say, Peer has looked great in Corbeil's place, and it might be a tough decision when he gets back. Essentially, it seems all those skilled guys get more points when they play with Sproule!
