I’ve been following Josh Lawrence…but he is having a great year (admittedly, on a stacked team) in his overage-1 season. Might get some pro looks.

Their overagers this year include three really good players - F Philippe Daoust (signed with Ottawa), F Ryan Francis (I thought he had signed with Calgary but Elite Prospects says otherwise…might be a target, from Halifax), and D Vincent Sevigny (undrafted).
Josh Lawrence is they guy I'm hoping to see in Red 'n Black some day. Sevigny, if he doesn't get a pro contract, would be a great pickup.

Dunno about that. Reynolds is not having a good season and looks pretty disinterested.
Your not wrong, I haven’t given up hope he turns a corner.. he is insanely talented but has never produced to the level he should.. I think he would make a perfect project for GMac but the cap might render that impossible.. In my lifetime he is the most mechanically skilled hockey player I’ve seen come out of Fredericton.

I know GMac prefers to bring in guys out of Jr with 5 years of eligibility but I would do anything for a few 5th year transfers (Pridham,Swan,Cuddihy) or older ex pros (Phelan,Watling etc).

After a stretch a decade or so ago where they brought in a bunch of transfers, it seems they have really gotten away from it recently. Who’s the last guy they brought in….Wall?

Before MacDougall it was Trey Lewis (probably my favourite CIS hockey player ever) and then we are going back to RD Chisholm who I had all but forgot ever player for UNB.
There's also the possibility of widening your recruitment pool by encouraging over-agers to forgo their last year of Junior, like Brady Gilmour.

I won't lie and say I'm not a bit concerned about where the offence will come from but I could see a lot of it coming from within.. Gilmour missed the entire post Christmas portion of the season and very likely was not at 100% in the playoffs , if he's healthy you have one 30-40 point guy right their, Keating was over a point a game this year, Phelan could put up 30-40 as well, he never quite seemed the same after he got hit against SMU, i don't believe we've seen anywhere close to his offensive ceiling yet . In addition I think Ryan Roth and Nurse can step up and put up some big numbers and Landry I think is highly underrated, in some ways he reminds me of Randy Gazzola and could become one of the elite offensive d-men in the conference.
We definitely don't have a line of Tremblay-Hennigar-Dickson to throw out BUT some UNB fans I talk to (not really referencing anyone on here) honestly seem to think the world is ending, 99% of coaches would be drooling at the prospects of going into an offseason with this group to build on.

99% of UNB posters here think the world is ending. I said it in another post but it bears repeating - UNB hockey fans have been spoiled over the past 15 years. If the roster doesn't have at least six 50 goal scorers from the OHL or DUB plus 2 pro-caliber D-men, the team is a dud.
No one wants to do it, but put yourselves in the shoes of a UPEI or DAL fan. Neither team will ever get to the Nationals without hosting (or in the case of DAL, the wild card). They have decent teams that work hard every game. UNB is not universally loved by fans around the AUS, as the comments at Acadia 2 weeks ago will attest to. There is a price to pay for the fame and fortune.

Looks like we have Samuel Richard slated to join the REDS next season. Has signed his Letter of Intent. Solid G to bring into the fold.

Big recruiting class this year but we'll be alright, we always are, :)

Some "possible" UNB recruits:
Benjamin Corbeil, Jacob Gaucher - Baie Comeau.
Simon Pinard - Gatineau.
Mike Petizian - Kitchener.
Cole MacKay - SSM

Bringing in a goalie from the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies seemed to work out well last time
It sure did...not sure if he was considered one of the top goalies in this year's class but seems like a lot of good potential here.

Ahhh The Great thing is ever since STUTOMMIESFAN left these message boards years ago, you've filled in admirably for the UNB hate. Always looking to throw in those lil Jabs of spoiled UNB fans, how much UNB is Hated, Through Red Glasses, Hints of cheating without actually saying it.

The question is as a UNB Hockey Fan what do we do? Do we hope we don't improve, don't have success, get worse, have smaller crowds, fold the program?

in Full respect to you cause your a good guy, but unfortunately the CIS Hockey section of these boards is mostly UNB fans 80% or more. Maybe the Moderators of these boards can get together and put a CAP Rule in Place that no single University can have more than 20 Percent of the Members of these pages.

And yes its great to see that Cap rule throw out, it hurt the other AUS teams more than it ever hurt UNB. Acadia has taking a beating with it over time.
