I'm guessing he'll have some up and downs later in the season but I think he has shown enough to be next seasons backup goalie.

If he's the 1A I still think we need a 1B. This season will probably net him the most games so far but can he handle 45+ starts?Hell, he's shown enough to be next season's 1A. We've been crying for a league-average goalie for years, and that's basically exactly what he's been.....and he's been better than average in 2024.
Agreed that we kind of need to see how he does the rest of the way......but I'm perfectly content with UPL as long as the voodoo doesn't wear off.
I can't believe I am saying this, by UPL is quickly starting to move himself into the must extend category. His 14th in S% among goaltenders with 25+ games and top 5 in shutouts. And this is on a team where just about everybody refuses to play effective defense, hanging their goalie out to dry often.
UPL should be on this roster next year.
I’m glad 6K is doing well. I was one of his biggest backers last season when people wanted him fired into the sun.
Next contract should probably eat up at least a year or two of UFA years, so 3 or 4 yrs at around 3 mil per. What’s he looking at this summer? 2 x 2.5? 3 x 3?
what about JJ?In a very disappointing season, Luu giving them consistent quality starts is one of what, two?, good things that have happened this year. (The other being RJohnson's arrival and his play dictating his stay in the NHL.)
what about JJ?
UPL singlehandedly giving the Sabres their most team shutouts since 2011-12...
Imagine his goaltending this year with last year's goal production.Three shutouts in under a month, 7 wins in his last 12 starts, but 3 of the five losses have seen him only yield 1 goal (once) or 2 goals (twice) against. With even a modicum of a functional PP, he's probably sitting at 10 wins in that span.
Do you like the Gibson idea ?Give him a veteran backup next year for f*** sake. Let Levi have a year in the AHL.
Dude is performing, is very skilled, has a pedigree…he has earned the right to be starter and to have a veteran behind him to help him grow
Watching him in the worlds I was hoping some of that would translate, but didn't expect him to lead the team in goals, but maybe that is because others didn't do much.Is his scoring that much of a surprise though?
