few things...

1. we weren't down 4-0 5 mins into the gamem.. so there's that. I liked that lol
2. I like that Xhekaj is making it clear that if you go after one of our stars I'm going after you.. or your star if I can't get you.
3. Struble and Xhekaj played a pretty good game together
4. Huston is always fun to watch

and
5. I agree with the others that it's kinda ridiculous that we can't have a tank thread. Like, year 3 of a rebuild has started off badly and we're clearly taking the step back before (hopefully) taking 2 steps forward. We all know we're in a place where this team could finish last place as easily as it could finish 10- 16... only takes a few things to go right, or a few things to go wrong. But, we all know we're not making the play offs this year. So yes, we wanted to see improvement... but it's clearly not gonna be right now. So, why is it a forbidden thing to have a tank thread for those who wish to discuss it?... can they not let anyone try to find something fun to talk about in these rough times?

I'm still hopeful for a 10 -12 ish finish, or "in the mix" which would show some improvement and be what I was expecting for this season. but like if the season goes to shit ... which is looking likely atm... well, the tank thread was what got me through the last few seasons lol.. there 100%
should be a tank thread allowed for those who wish to discuss it.

end the tyranny! :)

Watching the Canucks game and Friedman just said that a fuel truck hit the Habs plane and the Habs are now staying in a Hotel in Pittsburgh tonight.

Good job X! f***ing guy cheapshoted Slaf!
Slaf, as he did every second game in the first season, put himself in a ridiculously dangerous position by leaning down and extending while he should have anticipated contact.

If Barron can recognize that he has to be responsible for himself - and his supposed failure to defend himself was far, far less egregious than the one that we saw from Slafkovsky tonight - then Juraj can as well.

Anybody who did sports will know when you are overmatched you will simply be run over. There's no amount of kirktr that will change that. It happens to all rebuilding team.

Did you watch the game, lack of effort is ubacceptable, dont care if they get run over but the less you can do is to show some hart

There are only two players with + points in 12 games played of the entire team!

The only one forward who was demoted, Juraj Slafkovsky
and defenseman Kaiden Guhle.
Both with +1
Everyone else is - !!!
The worst is Kirby Dach with -14!

Every rebuild team looks like that. It's almost like some people are living under a rock.

2005-2006 Pens finished the season with 58 points allowing 316 goals. Outside of Orpik and Malone it was a pretty soft team full of over the hill vets who did not bother and kids not experienced enough. It was Palfy last season in NA despite finishing the season with 42 points in 42 games.

2006-2007 pens finished the season with 105 points allowing 246 goals. The only two notable addition were Malkin and Staal and some vets were gone. That's about it. Pretty much the same def. Same goalie. Same winger. But Crosby was a year older than in 2005-2006 where he was a rookie.

People are expecting too much from such a young team. The expectation are ridiculously unrealistic and quite frankly stupid. Almost like some fans are not really following pro sports. Demidov will be added next season. Slaf will be 21. Guhle will be 23. Hutson wont be a rookie. Will likely add another top pick. Couple of other guys will join the team gradually. Once the team will start winning the guy will gain confidence and after that softness wont matter as much. people act like if we would need 10 enforcer in the team. That's ridiculous.

Really comparing Crosby D+1 season to Suzuki D+8 season, Slaf D+3 season ? Next year the same argument can be brought up I guess then ;)

i have concerns about certain things, but only being 3ish years into a rebuild has definitely kept me from being super Negative for sure.

if they can figure out the defensive side of the game i think they will be fine in the long run.
I think next year when Demidov will be here and most of the other kids 22-23 (Roy, Mailloux, Eng, Kapanen, Guhle, ...) and hopefully Reinbacher healthy in the AHL and some vets finally out it will be the time to be a little bit more negative if the team is not winning more games. Next years it's also going to be 4 drafts and usually you want to see result by the 5th draft.

Guys bought the pre-season hype from the media. Media that is losing viewership and readership and clicks because less interest, thus losing money.

This is still a rebuilding team. I still believe they will get 82 points. I’ve seen much worse starts of a season.
