It's definitely refreshing to see them come out on top of a period where they were outplayed.

Seriously, what are some people's thought processes around here? You got me with that little sassy post. Glad score is the only thing that matters to some of you when discussing a victory.

How many quality scoring chances did Columbus have after the goal? 2? 3? A bunch of shots from the outside while protecting a lead is hardly being outplayed.

That and the Neil goal against Ottawa. Kicked it right in. They say his skate missed it.

It goes all the way back, and kudos to anyone who could find the video, to a Karel Rachunek disallowed playoff goal in 06-07, where he was just stopping and the puck deflected off his skate, which happened to be moving forward.

I found it sad that Calvert came out of that fracas with the same 7 minutes that Nash got. Just doesn't seem right.
I know how the penalties were doled out, but I thought Calvert's move was really dirty taking the feet out from under Nash.
Anyway, I was so happy to see Rick's response, warmed my heart.

I wonder if all the Bluejackets devotees appreciate their goonery.

edit: perhaps 'goonery' is a bit strong, but they tried to bludgeon the Rangers and obviously Calvert was instructed to do thuggish things to Nash. That's how it goes, so nice to see the Rangers push back.

Best part might be Columbus fans whining about how rick nash is a baby for shoving the goalie and beating up some midget forward.

I'm loving how these interviews are going. Hank got fired up, Nash is all "did you see what he did to me?" Good ****.

I remember that. Should've counted.

Nash was great tonight. Got screwes out of a goal.

Yep, until the end we played some good defensive hockey with the lead. Granted, I'd complain about that type of hockey if it were done against the Rangers.

I believe Nash is done with Columbus...

Funny isn't it. If we had lost this game we'd see 15 pages here already, when we win...not so many comments. But I assume fans are pleased :)

BTW, I find it funny how the Rangers when they outplay the other team (honestly, most nights), are heartless (more relevant to the posts early in the game), but when they're outplayed in games but hit and block a lot of shots are gritty and play with a lot of heart. Like bizarro world. It's tough to hit and block shots if you have the puck.

Hold on to ur seats; i thought Boyle played well.

BTW, I feel like McDonagh isn't getting enough love. That play to Stepan turned the game around. If the guy is the stay at home D-man that 75% of the main board thinks he is then I'm the Dalai Lama.

BTW, goals aren't everything, look at the special teams.

Rangers 0-4 on the PP 10 shots
Jackets 0-3 on the PP 1 shot

Unlike previous seasons we can come up empty but still look good on the PP.
