Because chelsea have signed 12 forwards… lfc have no other choice but to throw those players on weekly. Chelsea is deeper and better set up to deal with the long season. Yet I see the likes of Villarreal playing better .
Sorry, you don’t think Tuchel would start the shit out of his best players when healthy capable?

He literally would. You’ve seen it at every position - that’s why you never see changes in midfield/defense outside of Chalobah/Azpi RCB rotation early in the season and Kovacic/Jorginho/Kante three man rotation.

The forward rotation is a product of injuries, players playing like shit, and fitness. You cannot argue otherwise. Pulisic has sucked for two years. Lukaku - lol. Werner has never been a scorer. Ziyech doesn’t play well in the 5 atb, that I’ll agree with you on. Mount plays well, and CHO has never scored under any coach/system - is a pure facilitator/dribbler.

He just spent 120M on someone currently on the bench.

Somewhere around the world
We all knew Locatelli made a bad career choice, but I didn't expect him to look this bad after 6 months.

Allegri is not playing him right. He plays best when he's further up the field.

He did not play well tonight. So far, he's not even playing in position and he's been our best midfielder.

And that guy is half assing it up and down the field - what do you want Tuchel to do with that? I actually do not understand this at all

What I mean is that Chelsea has means Liverpool doesn't have. They have more money and should be more ambitious in their on the pitch play.
Then again, Tuchel is not Klopp. Few are.
With Tuchel you know what you get. And people will always criticize the way his teams play. Win ugly. That should be his motto.
I'm sure Chelsea fans would gladly be crowned CL champs and win ugly. But there's no denying it's ugly for the neutrals.

No I don’t think tuchel is capable of playing an offensive system that matches his team. He’s a limited coach and he’s shown it time and time again. Like simeone. Not the first time I argue about a chelsea coach and guess who was right last time around?

But they played ambitiously early in the season up until the circumstances dictated they would be playing Alonso,
Azpilicueta weekly at WB. Their midfield injuries destroyed them to the point they were trying to pick poison between Barkley, Saul for a few weeks.

Again, the only signing under Tuchel is Lukaku. It’s gone horribly, sure. But Tuchel blows pep and klopp out of the water when you look at their records in their first year as managers.

We also significantly outplayed every team except Porto in one leg in that whole CL run.

It took 92 minutes to see a Lille player attempt (and succeed) a dribble in the last 20 meters of Chelsea. Bout time HBA was given a chance in this game. Too late Gourvennec !

And you didn't face a major team in that CL run.
If you were in the other bracket, I don't think you'd be euro champs tbh.
Chelsea already had a top team when Tuchel came in. Wasn't Klopp's case.

At Chelsea, he has definitely played an offensive system that gets results relative to the overall strength of players at his disposal and strength of the opposition. It’s indisputable.

if we get to a point where Tuchel has reshaped the entire squad and we play like we did today, sure

but the only time we have been able to see chelsea’s full front line/midfield (chilwell/reece) this season was for like a few weeks and we were dominant during this stretch

Well it is what it is. Nothing surprising in a 2-0 defeat at Chelsea.
But given the game, I'm totally confident that Galtier still at Lille would have beaten this Chelsea tonight with the same roster.

I'm not sure what you are saying here... chelsea have a deep squad and clearly right up there with any EPL team.

Good win. Hopefully we close it out easily in the next leg, but can't get cute with only a 2-0 lead.

Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid are not "major teams"? Even Sevilla and Porto are decent sides, though not top tier.

Why have we given significant squad time to Azpi and Alonso at wingback, Barkley/Saul for weeks at MF, and rotated constantly at forward?

It’s been clear for a while that the only consistent attacking player Chelsea have had is Mount.

Which of Pulisic, Lukaku, Havertz, Werner, Callum, Hakim have indicated that they can contribute to scoring consistently?

Which of Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Saul have indicated they can score consistently?

Alonso has a fantastic left foot but has no pace and gets shredded defensively. The drop off from Chilwell is huge. Azpi gives minimally offensively.

I just don’t see where you think the goals should be coming from.

Chelsea’s defense has been better than Liverpool’s and City’s. When healthy, they’ve scored at similar rates with a FAR worse (from a goal contribution standpoint) front line and central midfield.

Their standing seems proportionate to this. I don’t get it.

IMO what happened to Tuchel is that Liverpool-Dortmund tie made him think that playing attacking football in these games was pointless. They had better players, they played better for about 135 minutes of the tie, they kept chasing more goals, and then they lost anyway and he got blamed. Since then he hasn't used similar tactics in a knockout stage.

When it’s one player not playing well you blame the player when it’s 5/6 … it’s probably coaching. Signed a team that employed f***ing Koeman.

Ask yourself the same thing with Klopp's signings.
Mane? 11 goals?
Salah? Didn't cut it.
Firmino? Can't score.
Chelsea's signings have a way better pedigree. Yet they're not delivering.
