Should he play another year in college or go pro this year? I kinda want to see how good Kleven when he's on his own.

Well he made the USA wjc roster. Seen a poster on the USA roster thread who follows it more closely list Kleven as a likely 2nd pairing guy (Sanderson-Hughes is the top pair). A nice surprise, didn’t realize he was doing that well.

Another year in college for sure. Then one year in AHL then we evaluate from there.
I'm not as sure about that, it will certainly be interesting whether he leaves school with Sanderson this yr or not. He's already got an NHL body, he already likes to hit & is big enough to absorb big hits. And he's a decent skater & really just has to learn to make quicker decisions & handle the puck a litte better something he might be able to do in the AHL. I guess it will be up to him & the Sens brass as to what his future will be for next season. Will also be interesting to see him in the WJC soon & be able to see his progress there.

I'm glad ive been wrong about this guy since he was drafted. Didn't see the feet, hands or IQ when he was drafted. All 3 have significantly improved since then.

NHL.com ripped Batherson off for an assist. They have him 1 and 2

Norris 2 and 1
Paul 2 and 1
Brown o and 3
Chabot 0 and 2

==============
NHLcom shows the above. but
1 Paul goal should go to Tkachuk and Batherson should get an assist making it 4 pts

As I have said before, this 2020 Ottawa draft class will be among the best hauls in NHL history. I mean the first 3 are Stutzle, Sanderson and Greig. Then you have guys like Kleven, Jarventie and Sokolov and even 2 other guys with potential in Merilainen and Daoust

2021 was always going to be a letdown, so I wished they played it a bit safer

Why is this in a Kleven thread? lol I only watched 2 periods so far!

Sounds like I should watch that 3rd period!

Stay in college, take over a larger role after the departure of Sanderson. Being « the guy » who is depended on in more situations will help.

Sanderson hasn't been around much this year ... hes missed 1/3 of the games... he's got most of that role... Time to start battling against pro bodies.

Plus he can play twice the games against men with an excellent developmental program between games.

He should stay in college. This kid was always a project and the Sens have other young defencemen developing as pros. They don't need Kleven in the AHL or NHL.

Another year (or two) as a top defenceman for UND will only help his puck skills and all-around game. I think he's then looking at 2-3 years in the AHL.

I know he's a 2nd round pick but I always viewed him as a guy who would take until 24-25 to make the jump. For the record, I really hope he does make it. Big physical dudes with big slapshots are a fav to watch.

Disagree completely. He will get more games in the AHL and he will have a chance to work out his physical game against more mature players. Mann is great at developing talent and the Team could certainly use him, left side paired with Lassi sounds about right to me.

Or with his old UND buddy JBD getting top 4 minutes after Lassi graduates.

Another great and under-rated pick by Dorion and co. We could definitely use a mature Tyler Kleven in our line-up right now on that 3rd pair.

I think he could be a better version of Holden/J. Brown with a mean streak tbh, would definitely like to see him turn pro after this yr along with Sanderson. It's most likely he will spend most of the yr in Belleville if he does & be ready to challenge the following yr once Holden's contract ends for that bottom pairing LD spot.

Think of the rookie tournament this fall if they have it again & if a number of guys turn pro with Sanderson, Greig, Kleven, Jarventie, Boucher, JBD, Guennette, Ostapchuk, Dauost, Latimer, Roger, Romeo, Sogaard, Merilainen, Lodin if he comes over & maybe Pinto, Kastelic & Sokolov plus whoever they draft this yr that might be eligible. It could be the best rookie team ever & we've already had a few that have been undefeated.
