Why would Sakic give up Newhook for Bertuzzi? There's zero chance that Colorado can afford Bertuzzi long term. Bertuzzi will be looking for 7 x $6,500,000 to 7 x $7,000,000 range and once they resign Nate MacKinnon and others Bertuzzi will be out the door.

I would trade Alex Newhook for Bertuzzi Jr. only on the condition that we could then bury that gawdawful player, name, and legacy in the AHL for the rest of his career.


Yeah but on a serious note, no. Newhook is very much not expendable, the Avs badly need his ELC and cost control (very likely as the Avs' #2 center starting next season), and the Avs can't afford Bertuzzi, as another poster said above.

Yeah i understand LA not wanting to move Vilardi, As far as Bertuzzi and Canada go. pretty sure the Vaxx mandate will be lifted by the time we were to deal him. And that's if we do deal him.

Bertuzzi could get that money well good for him. I doubt that and Stevie Y thought so little of him he gave him the bridge contract.
