At this point Brayden Schenn to the Leafs feels inevitable. I think the unanimous opinion on this board is the reported asking pirce (1st+Cowan/Minten/Danford) is a non-starter.
The reason I started this thread was to ask the questions: if St. Louis traded Brayden Schenn to Toronto for future considerations - would you, a Leafs fan, be happy with the move?
This would mean the Leafs are taking on Schenn until his age 36 season at 6.5M. This would leave the Leafs with:
X-Matthews-X
McMann-Schenn-Nylander
X-Domi-Jarnkrok
X-Kampf-Reaves
McCabe-Tanev
Rielly-Myers
OEL-Benoit
Woll
Stolarz
and 26.7M to fill out the remaining of the roster.
RFA: Dewar, Robertson, Knies, Timmins, Holmberg
To gauge what the posters on this board think via poll. Some people are willing to give up the price, some aren’t.Why did you make this? They want a lung a kidney and skin graft for the guy. we aren't getting him.
The better way to phrase the question would be: if St. Louis bought out Brayden Schenn today, would you be happy if the Leafs gave him 6.5Mx4?
Can they even afford to bring back Tavares if they bring in Schenn? They'd have 24.2M in space without Marner, Tavares and Knies signed.Even if you get him, our team is becoming very old in terms of hockey age. Especially if you re-sign JT. Hope we win the cup in the next 2 seasons. If not, then when? How do you replace the older players with younger players if you have 0 prospects? I'd take Schenn for free, but I mean our team is ancient.
Id prefer 26/26 to be without schenn or tavarasCan they even afford to bring back Tavares if they bring in Schenn? They'd have 24.2M in space without Marner, Tavares and Knies signed.
I would like him at 5mil or less and also Ranta if possible. Can they even afford to bring back Tavares if they bring in Schenn? They'd have 24.2M in space without Marner, Tavares and Knies signed.
That would cost alot retain for 3 yrs not worth it.Yes, I would.
I'd obviously prefer a smaller number. And with a trade the Leafs might actually be able to get a smaller cap hit if STL retains, which would be great.

The bed was made here when the defense was signed to long-term contracts. This team has to win as many cups as it can in the next 4 years. After that, it will likely be a pretty significant re-tool.Even if you get him, our team is becoming very old in terms of hockey age. Especially if you re-sign JT. Hope we win the cup in the next 2 seasons. If not, then when? How do you replace the older players with younger players if you have 0 prospects? I read an offer today that was suspect but I paused to thonk about it.Tbh I hate all of the options available, especially for what assets we have
I don’t want gourde, Nelson, Schenn because they are old and past their best hockey
Laughton is alright I guess, but he too is almost 31 which is a bit older than I want
One guy I wish we looked into was Morgan frost, he was younger and has way more upside than any of the options. Also probably wouldn't cost so much as he was traded for not that much.
Grabbing these guys means either 1) They walk after their contract or 2) They fall off hard really quick.
Not at that price.I read an offer today that was suspect but I paused to thonk about it.
Would you give up 2026 1st, Cowen, McMann and Jarnkrok for Rantanen for the rest of the year with the hopes of resigning him.
That value seemed pretty weak to me and I doubt that is enough but if it were I would be tempted
Yeah no thanks. I'd rather take Rantanen. Why did you make this? They want a lung a kidney and skin graft for the guy. we aren't getting him.
You add Schenn for free every day of the week.At this point Brayden Schenn to the Leafs feels inevitable. I think the unanimous opinion on this board is the reported asking pirce (1st+Cowan/Minten/Danford) is a non-starter.

How much are Bennett, Marner, Knies and Lorentz making in this scenario? You add Schenn for free every day of the week.
In our fun little hypothetical I also sign Bennett then we start cooking teams with something like the following
Knies - Matthews - Marner
McMann - Bennett - Nylander
Domi - Schenn - Cowan
Holmberg - Lorentz - Steeves
McCabe - tanev
Mo - Schenn
Benoit - OEL
Honestly, great questions. Didn’t really get that deep. I had a different lineup entirely without Marner, but didn’t want to derail this bad-boy.How much are Bennett, Marner, Knies and Lorentz making in this scenario?
Who takes Jarnkrok/Kampf?
I think I’ve seen that exact offer somewhere on Instagram lolI read an offer today that was suspect but I paused to thonk about it.
