I've been vocal in my concern about Tuukka's performance, especially this year, and that is not changing until I see some improvements on the ice. Debate his performance, debate his attitude, debate his commitment to his teammates, debate his drive, that's all fair game. If you think he's lying about his symptoms, I'm not sure I buy that, but you're free to think what you will.

That said, expecting him to play through the conditions he was dealing with and calling him out for not being able to do so is pure lunacy. Last thing I'd want to see is a pile of brown liquid showing up on the ice.

Flames aren't bringing back either Hiller or Backstrom (tweet didn't mention Rammo but he is also a UFA) and apparently are looking to solidify the position. Do we make Tuukka available? What would we be able to get back? I think it would have to be built around Brodie. Modified NTC for Brodie and obviously one for Tuukka, but who knows. Maybe there is a fit there.

Who do you have playing goalie for Boston? Not sure Subban is ready, and that injury could have lingering effects. Upgrading the D while severely downgrading goaltending would be a mistake, I feel.

It's obviously very difficult, but the D needs to be upgraded at the expense of offensive depth. Using the Johansen-Jones trade as a benchmark, I'm wondering what the Bruins have to give and what they could get along those lines.

Why is everyone so dead set on replacing a proven goalie for a complete question mark? If Rask is gone there better be a solid replacement idea for him beforehand.

Kind of reminds me of the story where a cyclist went to see his family doctor about his diarrhea he was suffering from.....
The Dr asks the cyclist if he was certain about his condition and the cyclist was requested to remove his cycling gear.
And as soon as the cyclist removed his bicycle clip from his lower right leg, the Dr, knew he was in deep $*^T......

I will not question his decision of what went on this Saturday but I do think it is fair to question as you well stated here above his attitude, commitment to his team, willingness and his goaltending in general.

If Rask were traded, then Boston would seek a placeholder goalie until Subban (or McIntyre) is ready. Maybe someone like Anderson from Ottawa? Cam Ward?

Trade Rask for high picks/good, NHL-ready dman/young roster players (some combination of any of them). With what this team is, I'd be comfortable signing Antti Raanta or Anton Khudobin for 2-3 years at cheap money and riding it out. This team needs an emema.

The only thing on the mainboards that has gotten traction so far is Rask for Haydn Fleury and 13OA from Carolina.

Calgary fans have shot down Rask for 5OA + Wideman... I assume Brodie would be an even harder sell.

I actually kind of hope the Bruins trade Rask, so the idiots here who don't realize how good we have it, get a taste of really poor goaltending.

For shame. Another athlete in Boston people are trying to run out of town.

I don't think he was faking.

I know he was sick. It's very possible that he absolutely couldn't play. I do know that there have been other athletes who have had the flu AND have thrown up on the field/sidelines and even yes had brown liquid.

That doesn't mean that Rask had to do it, but there are cases of some guys/gals who have.

Some people must be mistaking the Bruins for a team with a goaltender in the system ready to step in and be a legit No.1 G when their suggesting trading Rask.

Go ask Toronto and Edmonton how having poor-to-mediocre goaltending has contributed to their culture of losing the last decade.

Careful what you wish for.

:handclap: It's a case of, you don't know what you have until you don't have it anymore.

It's absurd.

Idiots? That's BS.

Rask simply is not worthy of the cap hit he is carrying. Period.

And what did we get in return for having him here at his salary? The worst draft position of the non-playoff teams.

Sorry, but I'll pass on those results thanks.

So people want the bruins to move rask to fill in problems at D and replace him with a backup? and they expect this will help? Really? Tuukka didn't play amazing but his stats weren't that bad... people think that he didn't win enough games and should be moved but they need to remember we could instead be talking about the number of games a goalie lost...

Unless someone has a legitimate replacement plan for rask they shouldn't even begin to think about moving him. Not having a real answer in net makes even a good roster terrible.

I don't think you realize how much average goalies make though. 18 goalies make 5 million dollars or more. 7 of them came in at sub .920 this season.
