Reminds me of playing horseshoes with my grandfather back in the 80s. Those things were super heavy. Good arm workout at least lol

We also had Jarts which are now outlawed.

We had the most fun though! ;)

Jarts were a blast to play. Every Fourth of July our neighbors had a cookout that always included a volleyball match and a jarts tournament. Good times.

Today is Remembrance Day in Canada. My family fought in WWI and WWII, today I honour them and give thanks to the freedom we enjoy. Thank you to all the veterans who fought so hard, gave the ultimate sacrifice. The message in our famous poem should be something people take to heart. I hope they RIP.

Well, after much weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth (thank you Xfinity :skeptic: you big goobers), I finally have internet/wifi working at the house. So tonight I'm going to try to get some lamps set up on smart plugs so I don't have to walk around turning them all on and off.

The tenant search for our apartment has gone so well that it’s been bad lol

Five showings this morning. Three still to come. We loved all five that came to see it but believe we have narrowed it to 3. We aren’t the landlord property management types, so it’s SO hard to take emotions out and make a business decision. Even if we could, I still don’t know what the right move is

I don't think anything explains the '70's better than the visual of adults drinking Schlitz and PBR, smoking Chesterfields, and playing Jarts while kids run around the lawn. Somehow no one ever lost an eye.

That pretty much summed up my childhood. Took a jart in the back of the leg and still have the scar. Only difference was my parents smoked Winstons and they only drank PBR on real special occasions. Usually it was Pabst's discount brand, called Red White and Blue.

Yes, Pabst had a discount brand.....

Our doorbell just rang, it was a woman asking where we got these poppies. I found the website for her, she was so happy. It made me feel good, just connecting with random people can be so beautiful.

Back in May/June I had to sell a hefty chunk of Bitcoin and TSLA stock to put down a down payment on the new house. If I had held onto it I would be rolling in money right now. But it is what it is, and I wouldn't have the house. I still have a bit of both which is helping regrow my portfolio again.

I remember Red, White & Blue. Schlitz was definitely top shelf compared to that.

But it sounds like everyone's eyes were okay?
And yes, nationwide there were plenty of accidents and Lawn Jarts were eventually banned. I just find it remarkable that it was a staple of neighborhood parties and I never saw a single kid get spiked.
