Well if WPG can't get him signed, that probably indicates he's asking too much. If you're looking for a $ figure, you can look at contracts signed by Rielly and Jones, as being in the same range that Trouba should be in. Lindholm may get signed soon and that will be another comparable. I don't think there is much of an argument to be made for him to get more than those players.
Not that simple, it's likely about usage, term and dollars. Anyone believing it's about dollars only is wrong, dollars and usage are directly linked. To-date the team has not given him the opportunity to earn top money for his ability level. So this is likely th divide, agent wants money according to his skill level and team says but you haven't produced at that rate, agent says no Dman in the NHL could produce at a high rate if played like the team using Trouba. Rinse, repeat.
