For once a Trouba hit that’s guilt-free fun to watch.
And no, it doesn’t count as a headshot when a guy throws on the brakes and turns his face directly into a hit.
Because there aren't many Jacob Troubas in the league who will make you pay for it. The bone crushing "defend by moving forward" style of dmen are really rare in today's NHL, only a handful of guys are capable of making this play. Why do so many players these days skate with their heads down & forward?
LEARN THE RULES. This was a 100% legal hit. Head contact is NOT AGAINST THE RULES.Was it a legal hit? There seems to be some disagreement on it, mainly on the fact that the head was the main point of contact. Some say that it makes it automatically illegal, some say it does not.
Was it a dirty hit. f*** yes it was, and by one of the dirtiest player in the league. And some in this thread are trying to give the dirtiest player in the league the benefit of the doubt.
I meant more skating through the neutral zone and the defensive zone near the blue line. most of these hits are in the neutral zone or just past the blue lineI doubt many people would score if they looked at their feet.
That has never once been the rule. How anyone can argue against him hitting the head as point of contact is beyond me.
Its is actually.LEARN THE RULES. This was a 100% legal hit. Head contact is NOT AGAINST THE RULES.
the sheriff is near!I thought the sheriff put an end to this stuff
If a player is skating with their head down then not hitting the head is essentially impossible. It's not about using their shoulder, it's about hitting their shoulder or body, not head, as initial point of contact.
Just to be clear, sometimes some players will make mistakes and hit head. But, this one doesn't really look like a mistake.
You are wrong, as stated above.Following through the body with the head coming first, such as this hit? Completely allowed and will be as long as hitting is allowed
Yet people manage this feature on a daily and weekly basis. If a player is skating with their head down then not hitting the head is essentially impossible.
It wasn't. It was shoulder to shoulder. What a dirty f***ing piece of shit once again.
And f*** these refs. Point of contact is directly to the head. Yeah f***ing right this league cares about the health of its players.
Good point I retract that you ridicule people with empathy. I maintain, however, that you can be bottered by thehit, while not wanting hockey to be just shootout or even wanting physicality to be removed from the game.
You claim Im doing strawman and then you claim Im ridiculing people because they have empathy for an injured player. Which I havent. I'm ridiculing people who attack the hitter and calling the hit dirty.
If it's allowed and helps your team why wouldn't you do it?Hit is clean, but it's another example showing an unneeded hit where Trouba's goal is to put another player on a stretcher. I'm just shocked he's the captain, because how can you respect someone like that?
No, they don’t. If I am skating directly at you with my head down infront of my body, please care to explain how I am to avoid your head? You are wrong, as stated above.
Yet people manage this feature on a daily and weekly basis.
You can hit it on the follow through, not point of contact. There is video evidence in the thread of point of contact being the head.
With your 37th post can you tell me more about the hockey world?Anyone who thinks it’s a dirty hit or illegal please go watch another sport. The NHL world is a better place without you trying to ruin the sport.
Its is actually.
"48.1 Illegal Check to the Head – A hit resulting in contact with an opponent’s head where the head was the main point of contact and such contact to the head was avoidable is not permitted."
Good point I retract that you ridicule people with empathy. I maintain, however, that you can be bottered by thehit, while not wanting hockey to be just shootout or even wanting physicality to be removed from the game.
Wow everyone! Do you hear that!? Apparently the amount of posts you make determines your knowledge of hockey! With your 37th post can you tell me more about the hockey world?

Why do so many players these days skate with their heads down & forward?
The problem with less physical play in the game today, means fewer players are ready for physical play when it happens.
These "skill guys" that come up in leagues where they are never touched is doing them a disservice.
