I'm guessing he doesn't want to go to any teams that already have solid 1st and 2nd pairing RHD's, that could narrow down the list of teams to potentially make a deal with and the Jets would get the best return from teams looking to fill those spots.

I have a question for Jets fans, was this expected? Has he shown that he's a prima Donna in the past or is this warranted given that he could be behind Byfuglien and Myers on the depth chart/ Their unwillingness to play less mins., etc. Not entirely sure of where he was slotted to play.

I'm guessing he doesn't want to go to a team with ANY solid RHD that are capable of playing top minutes. He was third in ice time last year. It was believed he would play the top pairing with Buff this year. For him to stay, I would think that buff would need to go, not Myers

I'll play...

To ANA: JVR
To TOR: Cam Fowler + Clayton Stoner

To WPG: Cam Fowler + Clayton Stoner (50% retained)
To TOR: Jacob Trouba

And that would be Detroit considering that we only have Green and Marchenko on the right side Trouba would get top pairing minutes with DDK and most likely Kronwall and Green middle pairing and Ericsson/Smith with Marchnko on the bottom pairing.

Beaulieu + McCarron + 1st round pick?

LOLOL what the ****, you are trolling for sure right?

my mind is blown right now you cannot be a habs fan? or you got brain washed on how good trouba is from the winnipegs fan.

tbh without contract trouba barely worth beaulieu and a 2nd

Realistically Detroit is the ideal place for him. They just don't have what we need.

Trouba and Overhardt are not going to facilitate a trade to Edmonton, and I doubt the Oilers want to have the same headache the Jets have now.

How much value could we extract from the Red Wings? Even if the main piece is a forward like Tatar or Nyquist that we flip, could we get enough valuable futures to make it work? Obviously, we'd need to take some salary to ease their cap situation. Somehow I see a multi-team trade situation.

Chia has shown that he'll give up a little more than he should to get what he wants. Even though he probably should, I'm not sure how much he wants Trouba.

Also, let's see if I can guess the proposal. Winnipeg gets Fowler who will leave in 2 years. Oilers get Trouba (who is arguably better then any of their current defensemen), and Anaheim gets the Oilers poop. Yah, that's how I thought it would go....

As an Oilers fan I'd hope he wouldn't give up a ton of assets in a trade two weeks before the season starts for a guys rights, who A) you have no idea what his ask will be from the organization contract wise and B) has the worst agent in the league who's known for having his clients sit out when they don't get what they want.

And I'm sure Overhardt and Trouba's ask wouldn't be outrageous when they know how bad it would look on Chia to have a player he just gave up a **** ton for sit out.

Trouble is a hell of a player but between the timing, the fact he doesn't have a contract, who his agent is and the fact he's requested a trade I can't see the Oilers being interested unless the trade price was heavily discounted.

Unless it's massive overpay, I don't see Cheveldayoff moving Trouba to another Western Conference team so he would've to face him 4 to 5 times a year. Pretty sure that Trouba gets dealt to an Eastern Conference team that puts up the best available package deal for him.

Left side d of similar age and calibre on teams lacking top 4 right hand d and able to trade the left D:

Fowler
Lindholm
Theodore
Hanifin
Fleury
Murray
Nurse
Klefbom
Brodin
Provorov
Sanheim
Hutton
Gardiner

Too young...
Sergachev
Bean
Chychrun

So Anaheim, Carolina, Philadelphia or Edmonton.

My bet is Philly...

Please take MINN off the list. Spurgeon is our top RHD, Brodin has played RD for the majority of his time in the NHL (he was Suter's partner for two years at RD, and plays it just fine), and Dumba is an up and coming RHD. No need to trade for Trouba. If the Wild trade a Dman ( an idea i am in favor of), it will be for forward help, and preferably with someone NOT in their own division.

Trouba is a distraction that Minnesota DOES NOT need.

Totally agree, To bad we lost Chychrun he would've been a nice start. Pretty sure that if Detroit were to get involved more then likely a 3 way would have to happen to get a deal done.

Cholowski could be a target in a bigger deal. But he's likely many years away from the NHL.

Trouba's agent is talking to interested team in regards to a contract. So any team that trades for Trouba will know what the contract will be.

I wouldn't be surprised if playing with McDavid and RNH under McLellan is one of the reasons Trouba is forcing the trade.

Edmonton seems like a prime destination for Trouba. Spot is wide open for him on the blue line and the Oilers have what the Jets seems to want. I think it all depends how teams value a young player being expansion draft exempt.

Right, but if I'm Chevy, he sits till I get what I want. And Detroit isn't offering what he wants. Trouba needs to do what is best for him. And he feels that is what's best for him. But the Jets also need to do what is best for them. They can't trade an extremely valuable asset for poop just because he can't handle being the #2 guy
