Trivia Question

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
WTF I don'T think I can even name another yugoslav who isn't Anze Kopitar

....Two? Bellows did and I think Damphousse did.
Yep, the last one is Damphousse

I was going to say Max Pacioretty, but after checking the stats he never scored 40 in his career.
It's weird the perception we may have of a player sometime , i was sure that Pacioretty had multiple
40g seasons.
I was under the impression that Kovalev also did. 38 is the Habs 40.

One interesting question that I don't even know the answer to but will look it up right after posting :

Who's the Habs player with the most games played who doesn't have a cup ring?

Games with the Habs or NHL games total? Of drafted players, Tomas Plekanec and Saku Koivu would be up there. Guy Charron played over 700 games but never played a playoff game. Ron Hainsey would have been way up there too until he won a cup late in his career.

If we're talking "Games with the Habs", I'm pretty sure that is Andrei Markov. Plekanec got to 1000 games (1001 or 1002?), but was traded to the Leafs at a TDL.
Markov finished at 990.

Pretty sure Plekanec played mored than 12 games as a Leaf. So Markov it is. Probably.

If we're talking "played the most games in the NHL, including with the Habs, without winning the Stanley Cup", on top of my head, it's Pierre Turgeon.

...EDIT : ... Forget about Turgeon : Hamrlik probably played 100 more games than Turgeon.

I'll go for my question since I didn't ask it for the Bellows/Damphousse question.

6 different Habs players won the Hart Memorial Award BEFORE Maurice Richard won it in 1946-47. You can name all six if you want, but I'm only asking for 3 of them.

1. Saku Koivu
2. Thomache Plekanessss
3. Andrei Markov

I had straight GP totals in mind, which means Roman Hamrlik is the answer. But the most games played with the Habs without a cup? You guys had it right with Pleky. Great job.

Ehhhh hockey-reference says otherwise (unless you count playoffs) about Plekanec/ Markov

Suggestion: Let's keep this thread alive, whomever answers correctly first must ask another trivia question.

I'll go: Who are the only two habs players to score at least 60 goals in a season?
That is so easy,if you don't know that, are you truly a Montreal Canadiens fan?

Sure.

On another note, so what's your contribution to this thread?
Really? I would think that die hard fans would know at least some of the milestone stats.

Is it mandatory?

Ok,here's another super easy one.

Most assists in a season.

Well your post didn't say die hard fan, it said truly being a fan.

One can be a fan of driving a nice car without knowing how the engine truly works or what a caliper is.

I'm a fan of Taylor Swift but I don't know which boyfriend stayed the longest with her.

As for your question, I believe it's little M.

I view a fan and a die hard fan in a similar vein of things.

I wouldn't consider that a comparable comparison as it requires much more mechanical knowledge than most drivers actually have.
Anyways,enough of the blather,yup!

This will be a more difficult one, before Victor Mete, there was a Hab who's nickname was meat, bonus points if you know why.

May have been lost in shuffle...

Howie Morenz & Aurel Joliat have to be two of them?

Mentioned Rocket so how about the entire punch line - Toe Blake & Elmer Lach?
