Trivia Question

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
i was just joking, you know . Joking . I think that this team has been entertaining for a while in fact. Even during the Stanley Cup run they were good to see. I will repeat myself, but The Habs are better then. what we have seen last 3 seasons, because of all those injuries. Beating the record of the NHL one time was already a special thing, but we did it again last season.

I think that a lot of fans are going to be surprised by the Habs if they can be in health as much as the other teams.
Joking is it? Good sir the habs are no joking matter. Not anymore!

Peace man, I got it in the first place, I just liked the entertainment value of playing it serious in a trivia thread.

I very much look forward to this season to start, I don't think they will disapoint. They are still in the underpromise overdeliver stage of their rebuild.

Trivia Question:

Who holds the Montreal Canadiens franchise record for most games played (with 1258)?

Hint: It is not Andrei Markov.

Speaking of Shutt, Why many people were speculating about a 75 goal season from him in 77-78?
Well, he had just concluded a season of 45 goals in 80 games in 75-76. If anyone could have done it, it was him and in fact he was league leader in 76-77 with 60 goals.

Short answer: Projection

Early December of 76-77, about one third into the season he was 1goal/game give or take. Were was the limit that year and then the year after that 60 goal season?

Wouldn't that be the pocket rocket?

Edit: If I am right, don't expect a question from me, I am off to bed

He got 15 in 73-74, 30 in 74-75, 45 in 75-76, 60 in 76-77...

Tretiak was the first drafted by Les Canadiens.
Tretiak was drafted in 1983. I was there! Huge cheer when Serge Savard called his name.

In 1978 the Habs drafted Viacheslav Fetisov so I believe he was the first Russian they picked. He re-entered the draft and was taken by Jersey in 1983.

The Flyers may have been the first team to take a Soviet player (actually from Latvia) in 1975, Viktor Khatulev.
