We just haven’t got to him

We hate everyone it’s just not his time yet

Sweeney & Neely suck and they can’t draft or trade or sign FA

Thankfully Bergeron & Chara going to come in and be wicked awesome and get us players we will love and sleep well at night

Hell baby
And there it is as to why it is interesting: he probably wants to get paid more than a typical inconsistent third liner.

Of course not, but he hasn't helped it any while he's been on it.
I’d absolutely let some other team pay him that, I would potentially move him. Just find it curious that he’s the whipping boy when most of the teams underachievers are making a lot more than him

Well it is the TFred thread. Elias has been whipped pretty bad in his thread, Pasta has taken his lumps, McAvoy and Carlo have not gotten a pass, Coyle, Geek, everyone has had a well-deserved turn in the barrel. I do think it's a little more because his contract is up and we know league-wide what players who are perceived to be power forwards get.

Looks like he's 4th on the club in PP points/60. Seems at least a little bit helpful.

Only in the same sense anyone else with PP points has been helpful, which is pretty much not at all. The PP is among the worst I've seen in a long time, and that has usually been with really really terrible teams.

Depends on what the parameters are comparing the two.

Fredric has 2 more goals and 1 more points than Kastelic, but he's also got nearly 100 more minutes of TOI. Kastelic has 30 more hits, 7 more blocks and significantly less giveaways. Kastelic also is 54.1% in the dot whereas Frederic is limited at FO because he's not great at them. If I was asked who has more impact on a game just looking at these numbers, I'd say Kastelic. He does more with less time than Frederic does.

If I was looking at the actual games, I would say without a doubt Kastelic has had more impact.

heard the rangers and oilers (among several other teams) are interested in acquiring fred. sweeney's MO is generally
to wait as long as possible for anything to materialize (like his mentor chia), so assume nothing is imminent.

You're saying his expectations are 20/20, grinding physical game and drop the gloves with the fighters in the league. There might be one or two other players in the NHL who are expected do that. Certainly no one else on this club.

I mean he's second on the team in hits, 50% above #3 for forwards and we're still saying he's not engaged enough physicality. He's held to a different standard which certainly doesn't line up with his 2mil third liner status right now.
This is a rather gentle approach for Frederic. His hits are very rarely impactful. I'd rather he score 15-15 and be impactful physically. That is a potential he can actually realize.

20-20 is a stretch for his natural talent set. Although 20 goals and 30 goals are not the challenge they were 15 years ago.

Asking him to find a few more fights is hardly a difficult expectation. He does not need to fight the staged fighters but he has plenty of options in his weight class to at least pretend to add emotion to this season's dreadfully lethargic team.

He had 18-22-40 last season.

Not a stretch at all.
