You know what they say about tools but no toolbox…
Im pretty its thr little man with the big ego behind the bench that makes the lines. He more than anyone is responsible for the loss today. Needs to take a good long look at himself in mirror and make a decision to contribute or take yourself out of lineup...at least 6 open nets missed. What an idiot!
he could go to MSL and say: i'm an idiot put Pezz in my place.Im pretty its thr little man with the big ego behind the bench that makes the lines.
Big L trade for Hughes just like the Dach one, I hope he learned his lesson. No more wasting quality picks on reclamation projects and busts please.
Newhook is the reason why Gretzky's famous quote" You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take" is a stupid thing to say.Newhook is flying out there, generating tons of scoring chances and playing a great defensive game.
I mean, it's just tragic at this point that you people can't see it.
“Hatred and fear blind us. We no longer see each other. We see only the faces of monsters, and that gives us the courage to destroy each other.”
What an amazing line it would be. Zegras can try his michigans/gimmick moves all game while Newhook skates fast up and down the ice without doing anything else and Dach stands in the corner looking like a 6'4'' ghost. You’re getting Trevor Zegras and you’re gonna like it.
There is a reason Avs fans use to call him NewJost… This guy is NOT in any way a top 6 player. He is a poor man’s Byron without the tenacity that Paul had which made him successful & great in his role.
Let this sink in: Newhook was less points than Gallagher, Evans, Dvorak, Armia & Anderson while having a bigger opportunity than any one of them to play on an offensive line.
Gallagher brings physicality & leadership, Evans and Dvorak bring FOs and PK, Armia brings board battles & PK, Anderson brings physicality & PK.
What does Newhook bring to the battle besides the little amount of points? and please don’t tell me speed. Speed is useless if you don’t know how to use it.
He literally has the 2nd lowest pts/g average of any regular forward on the team with only a rookie being worst.
This guy has no chair on this team & needs to be flipped this offseason.
This is not just a one-game occurance. When Laine is making the odd rare good play...Newhook finds a way to miss. Any normal skill player would have 30 goals given his opportunities. Any of Heinemann, Roy, Farrell would convert on most of these chances. At least if Newhook could do like Slaf and have the puck bounce off his skate or @SS to score would be better. The most insane thing about all of this is that a lot of fans can't see this. I don't know if they just get fooled by his speed or what.
He's straight up garbage, dime a dozen player that we overpaid badly for.
Has NO business being in the top 6. Not even sure I want him in the bottom 6 next year. I'd be thrilled if we moved him. The only plus side he is paid appropriately, so Im not against keeping him as a 4th line winger where he belongs..
Just keep him the f*ck away from Demidov. Even double chin Dach could have connected on a few of those plays last night that Newhook managed to screw up.
Heating upThis just in everyone: good players get less than 30 points a season with top 6 minutes. 5 points in his last 21 games. You might even say an excellent player.
Newhook is actually a really good player with decent upside. Then this guy clearly doesn’t know who Newhook is if he thinks this.
Yeah we will be talking about his upside until he’s 30 like Galchenyuk.Newhook is actually a really good player with decent upside.
He has been bounced around from wing to center and he has been placed with difficult players to develop chemistry with.
His speed alone is vital to this team.
Hey you may be right but I still think he has never been played with the right players.Yeah we will be talking about his upside until he’s 30 like Galchenyuk.
No, he only has himself to blame. He has zero IQ and brings nothing to the team other than skating.
Didn’t last long, guy whiffed on a million chances after a goal that a 4 year old could score. It's almost as if his linemates have very little to do with him sucking as he's getting plenty of chances on a consistent basis. He's got nobody to blame but himself.Getting the slowest man in the world off the second line was instant rejuvenation.
Could have had 3,4 goals easy if he didn't flub it.Newhook is actually a really good player with decent upside.
