Seeing Dantheflyerafan fill his diapers over this deal is hilarious. Loudest (& angriest) moron on Flyers twitter.
Or Fire Risto into the sun
Risto has been in the league how long now? He is what he is...It's actually a little below what I expected, but in the same general area.
Given it goes out to 34, there's some risk, but not a lot, Sanheim has been pretty durable.
And you can make a case that he has some upside left.
I also think Risto is actually the partner Sanheim needs, if Torts can clean up his game.
Risto's one strength is puck retrieval in the D-zone, which is Sanheim's biggest weakness.
Risto is big and strong enough to clear the crease, he needs to learn better leverage.
If Tort can get him to stop chasing hits, focus on proper positioning and let him be more active on offense, this could be a very good pair for an extended period.
yeah or they love moneyA few weeks ago it seemed that almost everyone posting on this board was sure that Sanheim would leave in free agency.
Apparently, a lot of players still love to play for the Philadelphia Flyers.

And creating roadblocks for the new GM that's going to have to rebuild

Yes... He ain't learning shit!Holy crap - he's going to be 28 in two weeks??
Nope.Charlie has to realize that of these three players, Sanheim is not the problem, right?
You don't want to trade for another bust former 1st round prospect who is only known for his size and shooting? We have to pray like a motherf***er that the next GM is the one who trades Provorov.

There's a ton of value thereThat would be great too, but I'm talking about getting value back.
That's what kept the aav downI didn't realize till I checked just now that he got a full NTC for 4 years. Something Provorov doesn't have.

It’s crazy how consistently wrong they are on every single topic.Authentic fans hate this contract, meaning it's a good extension

Risto good
Ghost and Sanheim bad
MacEwen good
Konecny bad
Hayes good
Frost bad
The words 'Charlie' and 'realize' don't really go together. Risto is a disaster. Just having him out of the lineup hurts the tank!Charlie has to realize that of these three players, Sanheim is not the problem, right?
He's a year older than sanheim who people regularly expect to quarterback a power play. I think risto settling into his role is more likely than a guy changing his game but we'll hear about it as nauseam regardless.Risto has been in the league how long now? He is what he is...
Old dog new tricks .... you should know the saying.
I don't grind on sanheim for being developed properly but if you want to say his lack of games is a mark against him go ahead. Al Bundy scored 4 touchdown in a single game at Polk high which is junior success talk for a ufa.A player with 600 games of mostly awful results, with all possible usage, suddenly “settling” into a role at all strengths is definitely more likely than a player with 300 games, a history of being a good PP QB without the consistent NHL usage (albeit strong 5v5 offense), being good at one area he hasn’t been utilized. Some people just don’t get it.
