A coach can cause the team to be poorer than it could be by implementing a system that does not work out. I think a coach matters; I want a coach who gives each player a defined role and tells them how he expects them to play within their roles. If they don't play the way that the coach communicated, then some accountability must be applied. The GM and owner must support the coach in establishing roles and responsibilities and then holding the players accountable. At this point I don't really care about green or the assistant coaches or anything. The players need to hold themselves accountable. They're no longer kids and they no longer deserve to be treated that way. These are professionals that are paid good money to play the game at a high level and produce at 110% every game.It doesn't translate always into wins, but the complete level every night needs to be held accountable by the players alone. I don't care what Green's record is. It's not his record. It's the player's record and the only people that are going to get them on track is the players now. The days of blaming the coach qnd the system is over. Now it's time to blame the players and whoever can't handle it then we need a new player to replace them.
The country club has been closed and now it's time to bring your hard hat and do some hard work and some real work. These kids have had enough rope. It's no longer acceptable to be losing like they have in the past. This year? Anything short of competing for a playoff spot is on them and will be held accountable if not.
We may not have all the tools we need to compete for a Stanley Cup, but we have enough of the tools to compete for a Stanley Cup playoff spot or at least be in competition for one. No excuses anymore. Everything has been replaced from the owner down. Now it'll be on the players. 110%. They need to look in the mirror and decide if they want to be winners or losers.
Green said in an interview that Alfie was going to get to do what he wanted to do and that he was looking forward to working with him, for what that’s worth.Yeah, it looks to be an interesting dynamic.
We can assume that Green brought in Baumgartner and that the Org brought in Yeo and then kept Alfie & Sexton.
Yeo actually has more NHL coaching experience than Green.
Not sure if Yeo was brought in for an interview by Staois for the head coach position?
So, it could be a case of Yeo feeling that he should have got the job based on his experience.
Green and Baumgartner will be close and then who knows how Alfie fits into all of this.
Certainly hope that they come together as a 'team' but could be an interesting dynamic.
I’m not sure I see alfie getting along with green and yeo.
Hopefully it goes great and everyone does get along but I could see an issue there.
They are all on friendly terms, until they disagree. I suspect Alfie will be agreeable as he has a lot to learn about "coaching" at the NHL level.Green said in an interview that Alfie was going to get to do what he wanted to do and that he was looking forward to working with him, for what that’s worth.
These guys are professionals, they will be fine together in my opinion. Both are passionate and aggressive and competetive.
Oh was there a Yeo interview recently.Mike Yeo says he and Alfie will coach the PP (he ran the PK in Vancouver) and Baumgartner will run the PK.

This morning.
lol what, why wouldn’t people write about the coach, in a hockey forum.I can not believe people still writing about Green. He is G-A-R-B-A-G! It is Travis 5-15. Just book it! Kids will not have a respect for low balled coach with under 500 record in the league. To gain a passable respect, he has to run a country club again with cherry pickings to milk the numbers.
Should I also book it next to Pinto being a garbage pick? Remember that, comrade?I can not believe people still writing about Green. He is G-A-R-B-A-G! It is Travis 5-15. Just book it! lol, don’t say you’re also of the belief, Sens fans shouldn’t discuss the coach in a Senators forum as well.Shhh
Is it ok to discuss the assistants.I can not believe people still writing about Green. He is G-A-R-B-A-G! It is Travis 5-15. Just book it! Kids will not have a respect for low balled coach with under 500 record in the league. To gain a passable respect, he has to run a country club again with cherry pickings to milk the numbers.
Maybe he actually meant these?
Tbh it seems like Alfie is assisting, while Yeo, being the guy with extensive experience, would be the lead.I’m not getting good vibes from Yeo and Alfie both running the PP… potential for disagreements and hurt feelings IMO.
Ya, that’s what I took from it.Tbh it seems like Alfie is assisting, while Yeo, being the guy with extensive experience, would be the lead.
Everyone seems to be singing the same song, it will be a collaborative effort with everyone having input
Alfie will be the Assistant.I’m not getting good vibes from Yeo and Alfie both running the PP… potential for disagreements and hurt feelings IMO.
