I'd say most of his games are replacement level play with a few standouts. Not the other way around. I don't dislike the guy at all, I just don't think he's very good.

I think you may be expecting to much from him.

He is a bottom six , makes 1.25m.
He is still young at 24, lots of room to grow.
I see him winning more than losing.
He has more quite games, which I think is a good thing not a bad thing. He has been a positive player pretty much his whole career, without many points which says he has to be doing something defensively right and that's what you want from a player like him.

I'm not pushing him out the door or anything, but I disagree. My expectations of him really couldn't be much lower. I think he's an ok player that plays ok. I haven't seen enough to feel strongly either way if he is part of this team or not going forward. I think we'd likely improve with a fair deal with a proven experienced bottom 6 guy in his place

This is all about opening up more cap space. For the first time since early in the year there is nobody on LTIR - which means they can accrue space on a daily basis. This also opens up more flexibility at the deadline.

Like the positional versatility he offers. Good numbers as well. Less NHL experience in comparison to Vesey, but also a bit cheaper against the cap. I could see him being claimed off of the waiver wire too.

I disagree with this. I don’t think Engvall is excellent defensively nor do I see him as an excellent skater. Just okay at both.

I find waivers really annoying. It would be nice if you could send down a player once per season without waiving them.

The NHLPA wouldn't agree to that.

At a certain point a player's developmental period ends, and if he can't stick with one team then he should have a chance elsewhere if he is good enough to be on another team,'s NHL roster.

Otherwise, players could be buried indefinitely.

Spezza isn't that bad actually. He doesn't have explosive acceleration but once he gets going he has that smooth stride and cruising speed on the open ice. Like a Cadillac.
