I've been unclear about this my self, and I've had it in the back of my head for a while but I haven't had time to look it up.

But, we cannot sign Karl Henriksson to an ELC even if we wanted too. Its too late, the deadline has passed. Henriksson is under contract with Frölunda. Pursuant to a transfer agreement between the SHL and the NHL teams in the NHL can sign players under contract to SHL teams -- as long as the contracts are signed before 15 June (see for example LISTA: SHL-spelarna som kan lämna för NHL-spel - Hockeysverige).

So signing him post Traverse has never been an option, unless of course Frölunda would release him.

Points for anyone who knows where this is from

Great movie. We'll see the parallels this season if we hear that Kakko tries to sacrifice a chicken in the clubhouse or if Quinn tells Georgie "What's with this Ole shit! Get in front of the puck!!"

On Kakko, his passing, vision, play making on the first three goals were a treat to watch. His patience and positioning on the OT goal was as expected.

Kudos to Fox on the subtle pick in OT. That play will hardly ever get called unless you really go out of your way to interfere or just stop the opposing players momentum fully, but he just shifted enough to slow down the Wild player and gave Kakko an extra foot of room.

What's impressive to me in regards to Fox, is the same thing that was impressive with DeAngelo last season. Their calmness with the puck in tight spaces with opponents bearing down on them. Slight movement/adjustment in body, stick, and puck, open up a passing lane, and then thread it on the tape of teammate. It's damn refreshing to see.

I think that since they knew he was likely going to be playing on the J20 team anyway, they wanted him to come over for Traverse just to give him a look. Frolunda probably told the Rangers to go ahead since they didn't need him right away for the main team.

:dunno:

Makes sense to me.

I said it at the draft after watching Kakko this past year against boys, men and everyone in between, he was the best player available in the draft.

I am a Capitals fan and man am I jealous. He is gonna come in the league and make an immediate impact. Ranger fans are so damn lucky.
1 cup in 79 years is not lucky. We deserve some good fortune. We are over due.

How have some of the other 1st rounders from the past couple years on other teams fared? Anyone really stand out?

Read Veleno has played well. Seider? Zadina?

Dellandrea? Boqvist? Kostin?

I honestly am thrilled with what Gorton has done to the right side of the D. Maybe the hardest thing to get accomplished.

Trouba 25
DeAngelo 23
Fox 21

Just an absolutely ridiculous right side. Sure little luck there as 2 of those guys would only agree to deals with us but to have that talent at those ages on the right side of your blueline for this next window is unreal.
Lundqvist on the way!

Kucherov did it to us this past season on an OT winner by Hedman (6 seconds in, great vision and awareness).

It's a fine line but Fox's play was legal based on how NHL officials call the game.

He got hurt in game 1 don’t think serious he returned in it, but probably just being careful. He’s going to compete for a spot in camp for sure.

Yeah, were aware of him getting hurt and not finishing the first game but I have not heard from the team afterwards. Kinda guessing that it's not serious as you say because if it were otherwise we’d probably already heard about it.
