Fans bend over backwards to try to justify Kakko and Laf not getting gifted top 6 minutes while literally every other comparable draft pick across the league is getting said treatment.

And then they suggest Gauthier should play on the 1st line.

Literally unbelievable.

I don’t know what drugs Larry is on. Gauthier has gotten plenty of time and exposure, UNLIKE Kravtsov, and has done absolutely nothing with it. He hasn’t outplayed him this preseason either.
Im torn between wondering if its simply anti-russian bias. Or Clickbait. Or just an absolutely shit take because he no longer understands hockey.
Gauthier hasn't impressed anyone at any point, unless the objective of a game is to run into a goalie.
Sure he skates hard. But last I checked so does gregg mckegg.

Every other comparable draft pick are playing on garbage teams without 50 goal scorers and 90 point players ahead of them.

That’s a fair rebuttal.

But if you’re taking that stance, you have to be willing to admit that you’re potentially hurting the long term development of those prospects for the hope that the established players can carry your team to a Cup potentially without the prospects excelling.

Or you can try to find some sort of middle ground and make both work.

I think part of the problem is balancing the need for development and also the fact that gallant is a playoff driven coach. He wasnt signed here to "develop" in the way quinn was supposed to. He was signed here to win.
So he's going to play the guys who will win for him. He wants laf to do it, because that'll mean he's got even more options. No coach is gonna be upset at having 5 70+ point players as opposed to 4.

I've been supportive of them making something work with Gauthier for years now but yeah, that reads more like grist for Larry's award-winning click mill, or an angle with a friendly agent, or the front office feeding Larry an angle for a trade we want to make more than any sudden, last minute organizational Pivot to Gauthier.

My first thought was that they must be trying to trade Gauthier

Gauthier’s play has been that of a guy who hasn’t impressed 2 straight coaching staffs, and knows his preseason is an audition for his next team. He still can’t finish. Cut him loose, Hunt would be a bigger loss.

Vesey is going to end up as the Mika-Kreider RW. People will hate it but it will probably work out fairly well. He’s played with both before and he’s the type of guy who plays well with skilled players. Could play a Fast type role.

So, I had Dall-E do an AI generated oil painting with the prompt: "An oil painting of the New York Rangers winning the Stanley Cup"

This was a pretty good result.
This is genius.

I bring you,

"Vitali Kravstov's romance with Artemi Panarin in outer space"

Brooks is doing exactly what his job is, which is getting people to talk about him and his content. His job is relevancy, even when you complain about something you make it relevant.

That being said vesey is probably the best fit with mika and zib out of the garbage that we to shuffle around.

Like stop for a minute and think about this, we have a small group of players that we are talking about slotting either on the 4th line OR on the top line rw, that is embarrassing and it isnt as though this happened bc of camp injuries or anything. This was the roster constructed

I don't know that you're hurting their development as much as you're keeping them from putting up more inflated numbers. THey may not "look" as good by the numbers but may be playing just as well. See playoff performance as an example. Also, those other high picks have not gotten the playoff run our guys had. So who's developing faster there?

The problem with PP2 isn't really that it doesn't play. Most teams go along the lines of a 1:30/0:30 split and we're bang average in terms of how we distribute time.

The problem with PP2 is that it sucks complete ass because it's quarterbacked by Jacob Trouba who is the worst PP defenseman I've ever seen play for this team full-time.

He's a skating time-bomb; a matter of seconds before he causes a shorthanded goal or a 4v4. I would rather have Lindgren there, nevermind Miller or Jones.

I too am mad that the Rangers are doing *check notes* the same thing that led to them having a top-5 powerplay unit in the league last year. The horror.

I'd have Jones at PP2QB instead of Trouba, but it's largely irrelevant anyways. The best powerplays in the league play their top unit way more than their second unit and for good reason.
