I will say, for as good as the Vilardi line was last game. They were invisible this game.

Tonight they were definitely not 'on'...

Same goes for...
Moore
Grundstrom
Kupari

Not sure when Kupari is going to take the next step as well as Grundy. Really rooting for both of those players but at some point they will be passed up.

Hard to complain about an Ontario Reign win over the Sucks regular season team with Zegras pulling passes out of his ass all game.

Just got home from the game, did the cameras catch Anderson giving the business to Zegras along the wall in the third? Dropped him, roughed him up a bit, was not well received by the Ducks. Anderson was a target for the rest of the game.

Turcotte is just pure dogged pursuit. Needs time to work on his positioning, no problem having him marinate for half a year.

Anderson-Dolan is definitely polished enough to be here full time.

Lemieux was the teams best player from start to finish. Angled well on the forecheck, consistently funneled pucks to the crease, busted his ass on the backcheck. Very impressive game.

Wagners goal was a beaut, but he was the anti Lemieux, took some bizarre and ineffective routes to loose pucks, had tunnel vision and telegraphed every pass. I am not as down on his as most, be was really struggling.

Kupari sure likes to watch games from up close...

Vilardi was fighting thru a bum right leg, hoping its just a charley horse as I can't imagine they would have let him carry in if it was a concern. He took laps and talked with the trainer during every timeout in the third.

Tkachev was very quiet tonight, didn't handle rougher treatment very well.

Those two lines probably got the tougher line assignments. Defensive pairings Etc. If you think about it that's exactly why having the Kopi and Danault lines to insulate the youth lines to get favorable match ups and have impact is an advantage.

I was thinking that too. But then I couldn’t think what the tougher assignment is versus the Ducks…. :)

Not sure if the cameras picked it up but I picked it up from the press box. Couldn't remember who it was at the time but when he got in the altercation later in the game I commented to someone that it had been escalating for a while.

Happy to see I didn't imagine it.

Yeah, cameras caught it. Zegras lifted Mikey's stick super hard and sent it over the glass, so Mikey nearly sat him on his ass. Hayward mentioned that Perry's done that before, but unlike Perry, Zegras didn't get called for a penalty on it.

Anderson wasn't taking any shit tonight. Easy to forget he's only 22.

I hate to say it but we have a Dustin Brown problem. Byfield, Turcotte, Kaliyev, and Anderson-Dolan are all ready now.

Perhaps we can package Kempe and Kupari for an extended Morgan Reilly or something?

Reilly - Doughty
Anderson - Roy
Bjornfot - Walker

Anderson will be wearing a letter sooner rather than later.

Kaliyev is such an odd unit.

I have never seen such an awkward player lumber along like he does, straight into the exact spot he needs to be to bury the puck.

I do f***ing love it.

He's unique, but closest I can think of is Vanek.

Love to hear it but will also believe it when I f***ing see it.

Was Mctavish. They were slashing and cross checking in front, then Anderson grabbed him. Ref came in and held Anderson down, that’s when Mctavish took his shots.

I remember, but they should have planned ahead for the draft. I knew exactly how good he will be back then. They had years to watch him.

First, teams do plan ahead. Every team. Second, I'm guessing they didn't have a scout on their squad that played with him at age 10 or whatever (eight years before he's draft eligible btw). Third, plan ahead how? Plan to trade for another 1st? That's a pretty expensive plan and what's to say another team wanted to deal their pick, or deal it for what they felt was a reasonable price.

It'll take more than that, but he's not a terrible backup options if we can't find a younger 1-2 LHD on the market. He's already 27 though.
