Amadio did not have to deal with his coach feeding ice time to past his prime Joe Thornton or Vesey like Brooks did. talent evaluation of this management staff is a freakin JOKE.

I will give them credit for not effing up Lily this season though (assuming Lily still plays) but the so called "push" for Sandin over dermott is laughable

If you're going to have a fit over who gets the 13th/14th forward spot, that's on you.

Amadio beats Brooks in almost any way you slice it. And with that said they are both dime a dozen players.

I didn't know where Amadio was from until I looked into him more. Mainly cuz I was surprised they kept Amadio over Brooks, who has shown promise. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Amadio is actually the same age as Brooks (25).
However, Sault Ste Marie jokes aside...keeping Amadio over Brooks actually makes a ton of sense and upon researching more than where they're from, here's a few lines I drew between the two.
Amadio & Brooks like I said, are the same age.
Amadio is 6'1" 205lbs, Brooks is 5'10" 180lbs
Amadio has a higher production rate in the AHL than Brooks. Amadio (0.8 pts per game) / Brooks (0.34 pts per game)
Amadio & Brooks both PK
Amadio is a right handed C (something we don't have outside of Spezza...who is really better suited on the wing after taking faceoffs at this stage of his career), Brooks is a left handed C (something we have an abundance of).
Amadio has 173 NHL games under his belt, Brooks has 18.

I really like Brooks. A lot. Was rooting for him to make the team. But upon a deeper dive into Amadio vs. Brooks...it actually makes a ton of sense why we kept Amadio over Brooks...and imo, has nothing to do with geography

Out of the 582 forwards to play at least 20 5v5 minutes in the pre-season:

TOI: 41:16

CF%: 76.80 (3rd out of 582)
SF%: 88.13: (1st out of 582)
xGF%: 83.29 (1st out of 582)
GF%: 100.00 (3-0)

....and people are surprised he made the team? Looking at the history/stats you posted, we all should have been pretty outraged if he didnt make the team. What else could he have done to earn a 4th line/extra spot really?

Sorry it's 0.56 pts per game. That was 100% my mistake. But it's still lower than Amadio's by a good margin

Was 100% my mess up. I fixed it in my post. I was looking at the assist column instead of the points by accident. But yes, 0.56 to 0.80. That's on me, but point still stands

Can someone explain what is going with Semenyov? He is still with the big club but last I checked either Amadio or Semenyo have to be sent down, or they keep both and send down one of Sandin/Lily at least on paper.

im pretty sure amadio makes the team . there is no need to waive him for a 22 man roster

And that's not even fair to Amadio because Brooks didn't play in the AHL at 20 (he was an overager in the CHL) while Amadio did.

If we look just from age 21 it's 1.02ppg for Amadio to 0.56 for Brooks.

Not close.
