GDT: Training Camp Discussion PART III

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. f***. Really hope he can play Wednesday night but at the same time I hope they don’t rush him back for the sake of playing in the home opener.

I think they have a red jersey for that.

Grey usually means not in the lineup for the next game, at least from what I've seen over the years. Hopefully not the case this time.

Ritchie --- Tavares --- Marner
Bunting -- Kerfoot -- Nylander
Engvall --- Kampf --- Kase
Simmonds - Amadio - Spezza
 
Must mean Engvall & Amadio in. Wonder if Tavares will be moved up a spot then.

Ritchie-Tavares-Marner
Bunting-Kerfoot-Nylander
Engvall-Kampf-Kase
Simmonds-Amadio-Spezza

That's my best guess at the opening lineup if Matthews can't go. Pretty solid depth we have though at least

Saw a great post yesterday on twitter, there's a good chance 31 NHL GM's don't think as highly as you do about your 25 year old AHL tweener "prospect".

If we lose him, I'm sure somewhere in our farm system there is a prospect as good as Brooks or a prospect who will be a better NHLer someday. It's the price of having a CBA.

IMO Brooks > Amadio

Also in terms of line dynamic.... Brooks shoots left now you have three guys that shoot right on the 4th line with Simmonds-Amadio-Spezza

Also think Brooks is a better PKer than Amadio.

AND

Brooks-Spezza have chemistry; yes sample size is small but they did demonstrate that.

between brooks/amadio brooks was an easy choice to keep IMO

same "analogy" can be applied to amadio. then the question becomes why amadio over brooks? the answer is not obvious in favour of amadio unless you are a dubas super fan

Both are skilled, with poor skating, but Amadio has good size while Brooks is small

Also, Amadio massively outproduced Brooks in the AHL and has far more NHL experience.

Brooks and Amadio are both equally irrelevant. Even if they both got picked up, we could up another one of them on waivers tomorrow if we wanted to.

These players are a dime a dozen. There are 8-10 equal value players on waivers right now.

Amadio did not have to deal with his coach feeding ice time to past his prime Joe Thornton or Vesey like Brooks did. talent evaluation of this management staff is a freakin JOKE.

I will give them credit for not effing up Lily this season though (assuming Lily still plays) but the so called "push" for Sandin over dermott is laughable
