Beside his bigger than Brooks and played for the Greyhounds. Any more intel on him, as I only saw him this pre season and he is solid.

It's not that surprising. Amadio has more NHL experience and plays more of a defensive game, which is what the Leafs will want with Mikheyev out. Could have been very different if it was, say, Spezza instead.

I am sure having another RH center also plays into it as well.

So with Amadio making it, doesn't that guaranteee Liljegren being sent down? Doesn't Semyanov require waivers?

If teams are putting in a claim for a forward, Barre-Boulet and Leivo are better options than Brooks. Di Giuseppe also had a very strong camp with VAN.

I would guess Brooks goes unclaimed.

Austin Wagner from LA and Kevin Stenlund from CBJ may generate some interest if a team can overlook the fact that they have cap hits in the 1-1.1 mill range.

Nothing like Benning giving Hamonic a 2 year deal with a 3 mill AAV and then immediately waiving him before he even plays a game on his new deal. I wonder if there is a team desperate enough for RD depth to actually claim him away from VAN.

Looks like Benning just traded Juolevi too. What a mess. 10 years.

Hey guy just a friendly fantasy fan with a couple questions.

How have Mzarek/Campbell looked in preseason? Any guesses as to how they’d be deployed? Maybe 50/50 or has Campbell established himself as the clear cut #1

They've both looked pretty solid.

My understanding is that Campbell plays Wednesday against MTL and Mrazek played Thursday against OTT. I imagine they will split pretty evenly unless someone takes it and runs.

Semyonov is waiver exempt but has a Euro Assignment Clause in his contract according to his player page on CapFriendly: Kirill Semyonov Contract, Cap Hit, Salary and Stats - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps.

If they try to send him down he'll probably just go back to the KHL, and IMO I think he's played too well to send down.

I think he will get a chance with Mikheyev out. Even without Mikheyev's injury, I would have imagine he rotated in.

The thing I don't get is Amadio also being there. I don't remember Semyonov being officially cut, so we have 14 forwards (Amadio + Semyonov with an Simmonds-Engvall-Spezza 4th line) + 7 defensemen (Liljegren/Dermott/Sandin as the 5-7) and then Mikheyev on LTIR. There has to be at least two more moves, and if it is not someone getting traded or put on waivers, that means Sandin/Liljegren and Semyonov got cut.

Both have looked good in limited action. Campbell will be the starter on opening night but I expect it will be 60%-40% if all things go well (unlikely). Injuries likely to play a factor as well.
