Training Camp continued

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Excluding cap hit I think McCann plays a better game than Kerfoot. He doesn't produce enough for the money but that's not my problem, I'm talking about making the team better and I like Kerfoot

Kerfoot put up 47 ES points to McCann's 32 in less icetime, I don't think he brings enough to PP2 that it's a good swap.

McCann is probably better for starting an expansion team but if you already have guys filling the major top-6/PP1 jobs Kerfoot is better at filling the side jobs like PK and making bottom 6 lines click.

I agreed that Kerfoot produces more and I'm specifically talking about the bottom 6.
I think we have other talent available for pp2
 


Well that sounds better than a strained muscle if it was just an impact injury.

Looking more likely he’ll play Wednesday.
 
Robertson is being re-assigned to the Marlies. He did enough to make the team but so did Malgin. One requires waivers, one does not.

No harm in going down at 21. He should be fed minutes until there is an injury and he is called up. There is also the chance Malgin struggles at the NHL level and they swap.

They weren't going to waive one of their few physical players. He's also on the shutdown line

Malgin and Robertson were pretty much equal in camp performance. Waivers was the ice breaker.
He'll be up here soon. He shouldn't get discouraged

How are the Leafs only $4 under the cap?

I see them as $78,754 under, someone care to explain?

This is the year Jason really took off in Dallas, Nick just led the Leafs in pre-season scoring and scored 16 goals in 28 games in the AHL last year. He can be an impact player now.

Aube-Kubel was on waivers just last season and was a healthy scratch half the playoffs, with 0 points in 14 games on their run. He's a replacement level player on a buriable contract.

I think it would have been plenty smart.

One of them needs to be in a top 6 role to perform to his abilities.

Robertson is not being blocked by NAK. NAK serves a purpose. Robertson will as well. I imagine he plays around 40 games or more with the Leafs this season.

As much as I dislike Justin Bourne he was bang on with Malgin only being on this team because of Dubas Ego due to being called out on Marchment trade. After everything Robertson has been through and for him to have the camp he did and still not make the team, I’d be furious if I was him. All this talk about open spots being available at camp was all BS.

Malgin had a very good pre-season as well. If he hadn't performed, you may have a point.

Both performed equally well. If Tavares can't go Wednesday, we likely see Robertson in the lineup on Thursday.

Justin Bourne is a clown. If he is against something the team is doing, it's the right thing.
I don't trust a guy who said Robertson shouldn't be on the PP because he shoots.

Incorrect. Malgin also did really well. Both were equal in camp and waivers was the deciding factor.
Nothing to do with ego. Anyone who keeps mentioning that the trade has something to do with it is looking for attention

I mean Malgin did lead the team in scoring this preseason.
