Can someone tell me what Quick's fancy stats said about his last game against the Islanders? It appears to me that he was getting peppered with too many grade-A chances rather than him playing poorly?
The fancy stats say that we sucked in that game but also say that Quick hasn't been good since before McDonagh was our captain.

I hope Laviolette can break up the country club atmosphere here. While i like Kreider and Zibanejad as players I get the feeling they have too much input into the teams running up to this point. They play ok together but i thought our best lines last year was when Kreider and Trochek were paired for a short time, chuck Kakko on with them and to me that's a real handful.
Coaches don't play Kreider and Zibanejad together because they're a couple and lobby for ice time. Coaches play them together because the Rangers score 58% of the goals when they're on the ice together.

I'm all for experimenting but it's not like that pairing isn't a massive success over large samples.

that's why I don't get why people post lineups where those two are split up. Leave what works alone...unless I'm missing combos where Kreider/Zibanejad perform better with someone else.

I assume I'm just reading this wrong/misunderstanding, but isn't that a bad thing?
Like wouldn't it be better if you scored 40% of your goals with your top line, 40% with your 2nd, 15% with your 3rd and 5% with the 4th (obviously adjust a little)?

Two guys scoring almost 60% seems to imply that either everyone else sucks and needs to be traded, or you need to break up those 2 in order to balance the scoring and make it harder for the opposition to cover you

he's saying that of all the goals scored when Kreider and Zibanejad are on the ice together the Rangers score 58% and opposing teams score 42%

I think Cuylee making the team on the 3rd line would excite the team

Let’s see a kid get a shot early

They play b2b nights, hes going to dress as the BUG in the 2nd game.

Probably going to see alot of AHL bodies play the 2nd game of the back to back

Am I the only one who is totally fine with this team looking like complete dogshit in the preseason? I much prefer it to looking amazing and getting everyones hopes sky high and also peaking early.

I might remind all, it's a LONNG season. Getting hot towards the end of it is what you want. Lavi has a track record of his first season being pretty damn good when he takes over a team. We may see growing pains early, thats fine by me as long as momentum picks up and takes us into the post season.

I still think there is going to have to be a sacrifice in the near future for the team to actually break out of that country club mindset.
Lavi can only do so much

Doesn't necessarily have to be a sacrifice but they do need to split up the best friends club and let the coaches make the line decisions.

Anyone who didn't expect the team to look like this after all the changes was blind to what happens in situations like this. We will probably look bad for most of October before the system becomes a part of how we play.

Their first overall pick: spends an extra 3 hours a day ripping pucks after practice, refinig his craft and building his endurance

Our first overall pick: will be a top 10,000 player in pokemon go by the end of October

Their first overall pick: has the hands of an angel, the edges of a freshly forged katana, and the shot of a navy seal sniper

Our first overall pick: has the goatee of a pervert, the body of phil kessel and the work ethic of a walrus with morbid obesity

Do yourself a favor and don't look at the highlights for tonight's Hawks/Wings game.
