I'm not sure about Wheeler and Panarin together, but I don't dislike those lines at all. Kakko doesn't need anything more than heavy usage. Trochek seems to me like the best fit for him as a center, and on that line, he'll be the guy expected to make plays and carry the puck, with Goodrow taking some of the muck-work burden (and Trochek helping too). Seems like a clear checking line. IDK, I like it. I'd like it better if Vesey was in Goodrow's spot, but whatev.
Kakko getting a chance to be the puck carrier, play driver with Trocheck providing cover and Goodrow providing board support, is also what I'm thinking.

I don't like Goodrow in the top 9.

You can accomplish what you're trying to accomplish with him in that role and do it even better with Vesey in that spot.

I know things will change, but immediately throwing Goodrow into the t9 is bugging me.

This. Goodrow sucks ass.

Goodrow is paid like a 3rd liner
Come playoff time you likely get your wish as they will add depth
Also maybe Cuylee or Othmaan can bump him eventually

last minute PTO goalie Arvanitis listed in Scrimmage rosters while Lindbom is not ...

Group A with the most likely NYR guys,

although curious if Mackey
(no AHL time last year, but many scratches; was regular for USA team at WC)
works his way into the mix ...

We've gotten lip service about how camp is going to be different.

They straight up went into conditioning drills after pretty hard practice. That is different.

Good.

Its one thing hitting the gym ripping out deadlifts, pushing sleds for explosiveness and going for sprints/runs - but there is nothing like conditioning skates. All that gym stuff definitely helps, in a lot of different ways.

It f***ing sucks doing it, but you need to get your sea legs early on and you need to push through it. Its really the only way. Its not something you can mimic.

Happy to see this

I’m with you 1000%

The amount of water I see being carried for NJ around here and every other social media outlet is annoying.

They have a VERY bright future and I can see them being a pain for a long time, but it won’t be this season. Too much roster turnover, all that chemistry has to be rebuilt. No Brunette who just so happened to be there for their first good season in like a decade. Lofty expectations, no longer the under dog which adds pressure. Several key players got paid, no longer playing for a contract. I can keep going.

I’ll take the Rangers all day. I was always the negative Nancy NY fan in my social circle, but this board puts my pessimism to shame sometimes.
I have to give credit where credit is due. A huge amount of the difference in how people look at NJ vs how they look at us is just having Hughes. If NJ did not have Hughes it would be so different over there. Hopefully we can find our own Hughes some day soon.

Plus, you really do not want Trocheck being the puck carrier, because he's not good at it and is prone to turnovers. So depending on how they skate out of their own zone, the puck's gotta go to Kakko to cross the other blue line.

Maybe this is the thinking but the lines are going to change like they always do, I think Kakko will end up on the top line eventually it just makes too much sense unless Lafreniere looks like a drastically different player.

No doubt. Over 82 games, there will inevitably be different line constructions. It's going to happen. Players staal (sic), and the coach will use the blender to try and get people going. It's a long season.

Lavy might like the idea of having a match up line and goody Trocheck and Kakko would probably be the best version of one.

I wouldn’t put much into the lines right now but it would be interesting. I think 20/93 10/72 and 21/16 are going to be together mostly and you’ll see the right wings change. That is my belief but again it’s day one so who knows
