Maybe it is time for Wheeler to shut up during training, his history of dividing the team and taken of the C should maybe make him know his place...
Thanks for the stats on that. I thought they were pretty sub-par last year for sure. Lets hope for better team-wise and improved 2ndary, 3rd-line ouput. Coach Bones is known to help coach successful D-scoring opportunity systems. Hoping for improvement!League average was 255 goals last year, and the Jets were below both on offense and defense. I think the challenge is to get below 3 GAA, and improvement in d-zone coverage, and penalty killing should get there. I'm not so worried about getting to 255 goals, that's a 5 goal improvement from last year's team, and right off the hop I think that tothe line will set the pace. Seems like they are clicking.
These road games are the worst in preseason. Other teams play their stars, and you play your callups. Should be sloppy.I really want to see great efforts from all but especially Eyssimont there might be a spot for him if he shows well and Chisholm maybe not this year but a great showing would benefit him for the future.
I’d kind of like to see that as our second lineI’m hoping to see Perfetti-PLD-Appleton
Gettin fiesty
Is there any television/ streaming coverage of the game?
That kind of sounds like Rick Bowness's answer to the question of how Gagner ended up with Gustafsson, "ended up there when we were making lines." I'm sure there's a bit more logic than that that goes into it. I think the scrimmage lines have some indication of team direction. Which looks like top 6, bottom 6, which is something I know you weren't fond of. One thing that stood out to me is that there is a RH shot on every line, balancing things out, and that might be an objective that wasn't there in the past. Not sure if it will last. You are right that lines are never set in stone, and even the best lines get broken up, and injuries, slumps, and hot streaks will create some changes. Preseason won't be a good indication of what combinations go forward, as the coaching staff will probably rest a lot of the vets. If the scrimmage is an early indication we're going to see some changes, whatever effect they have, which include breaking up Scheifele and Wheeler, and I'd be surprised if Dubois isn't tied to Perfetti for much of the year. Scheifele's line looks like the kind of a line you would want if you are planning to re-sign your number one centre, getting the two best wingers. So I think the combinations are important.Honestly, I must be the only HFBoards member who doesn’t care about the line construction. They’ll get it figured out and it will probably change a fair amount during the season.

Any guesses on lines?
Preseason is essentially meaningless. I think the older guys like Wheeler and Gagner won't play much. So you'll see the replacement level players getting their shot to make an impression. We'll get to see the new top line for the home games. I'm excited to see what the coaching changes bring in terms of systematic changes, Whether it be a more aggressive forecheck, defense activating, and particularly how different the d-zone coverage is.I think Bowness will want to cut down the roster fairly quickly and give the team more time to adjust to what he's asking them to do instead of resting them and hoping it works out with camp drills and a few practices. I think he'll want to see the players who might actually be playing meaningful minutes with the team more than playing the bare minimum all the time and some kids and AHLers who probably won't see the NHL roster this year.

I don't think there are a lot of roster spots available, but you might get one player who wins a job based on TC.
It's a clean slate for everyone.
