I don't even think its a given that he'd get killed.

Most fights end up pretty evenly matched. Guys who know what they're doing don't get their clocks cleaned too often.

Ross Johnston is a terrible hockey player though.
Ehh Johnston’s fight card is pretty one-sided. Not the most scientific endeavor, but still.

Mike Rupp said that he sees the Rangers hoisting a cup in the next 3 or 4 years.

I feel like that's what many of us think. Will it happen? Don't know. But it's incredibly obvious that this team is on the right track, they have an incredible group of young talent, and their cap situation over the next few years is far from terrible. They no doubt have the pieces to make a serious Cup run. It's the putting it all together part that we're unsure about.

Fox was 3 years younger but had only 11 fewer points overall and 6 fewer PP points. And Fox averaged slightly less time on Ice per game.

There's a very decent chance that Fox could match him if he got the PP time.

But DeAngelo had to carry around Staal who is death to all things offense.... and defense...

Okay hes death to all things hockey. Point being, DeAngelo would have probably been even more productive last year if he had a competent partner.

While its not a necessity, their easiest road to a cup is going to come over the next 3 years.

Not only are they Lafreniere's ELC years, but they're going to be the bridge years between productive to less than so for Panarin and Kreider.

After that, there is going to be an inevitable shuffling of the deck and those contracts are going to be unmovable.

I keep forgetting about Matthew Robertson. I really wanted to see this kid in camp and we haven’t gotten a sniff on him. Very intriguing prospect for us. IMO the guy that should slide into that second or third LD spot long term.

I dream of a reliable third pairing of Robertson Schneider one day soon you win Cups with guys like that.
I’m happy with Schneider because now we have another two-way d-man with size in addition to Robertson and Hajek. And we only need one to develop. However, I think Hajek is on his way out, and I fear Robertson might end up like Hajek. Is there anything that Robertson does significantly better than Hajek?

He does a better job not getting killed by the opponent.

How are you judging Robertson before he played a game in the NHL?

We had our last window and choked it.

I think we can have a Pittsburgh/Chicago type of decade tbh. CAN NOT AFFORD TO GIVE OUT STAAL deals. Each big contract needs to produce at that level.

Basically everything, and especially not getting rekt every shift.

If the Rangers are going to win a Cup they won't be able to give out Panarin money to anyone else. All these guys are going to have to leave money on the table. Probably a lot of money. Seems like other teams get guys to do this, maybe this time it will happen for the Rangers.

Watching the best of rangers 19-20 right now. Feb 21 game in CAR. Incidentally it's also the worst of Staal.
