These projection charts always end up looking silly.

It’s not really a projection it’s a ranking.

Doesn't take into account Laf and Kakko and Chytil's probably improvement.

Laf is already considered a good player by these metrics which is pretty generous considering he’s never played an NHL game.

It shows that we have two 19 year olds and a 21 year old that will be a wildcard that this analysis doesn't take into account.

Can't really take them into account until they arrive. Shows how important they are. But also that we don't have 3 year history to propel us up the standings like how Marchand and Bergeron have enough 3 year cred to take a nobody (at least in the NHL so far) in Studnicka into the 4th ranked 1st line.

They "have their way" because they're physical and that can be fun to watch but as I recall by all metrics they don't really do a whole lot that helps you win games. They don't generate chances/score enough or suppress shots/chances against enough to make it worthwhile. The "best fourth line" thing is a myth, the type of fourth line the Rangers had when they went to the finals was far more effective.
You gotta be ready for a team that will come at you hitting but if you're gameplanning around their fourth line then the other coach is already beating you

I'll disagree completely.
They wouldn't have made it as far as they did without that 4th line.
I'll even go further and say they probably would've made it further had it not been for injuries..

One guy we haven't talked much about is Yegor Rykov. Next year, our Russian James Franco could further deepen that list of defensemen.

He's RFA this summer and he's a regular for CSKA, the top team in the KHL. Don't be surprised if he signs with them
