All of us?

I think there was like one guy who was very vocal about it and it was Poster PB.

I'd take a shot at him though.

I don’t know man I liked Howden but I wanted Raddysh and can’t remember anyone that didn’t. But maybe I’m wrong there

And technically Shesty. Like Hank he's no stranger to pro hockey but still counts for Calder (when was our last Calder winner? Leetch?)

As to what Edge said about Hajek, you win some and you lose some. Hopefully he can recoup a 4th or 5th at some point, but has to be considered a miss. Too bad considering how much he got talked up about being the Rangers "A" target in the McDonagh trade.

It's funny, even then I feel like he was the third or fourth asset I liked in that trade.

I really liked Howden. I really liked having a first in that draft.

Below that, I thought Namestnikov had a chance to fill a third line hole and be a bit of a utility player.

Hajek was a steady kid in the WHL, but he also wasn't someone who leapt off the page for me either. It felt like the conversation with Hajek was particularly reliant on several attributes kicking up a notch.

But certainly disappointing nonetheless.

I strongly prefered Howden to Raddyish of the two.

But I also would've preferred Raddyish to Hajek.

So it was a bit of a double-edged sword.

ok so raddysh is not included here. He must have gotten hurt. Can’t put him thru waivers If injured. So that’s gotta be that.

And I'm sad he hasn't put the pieces together on the play he looked like he could be.

I've never been as down on him as some, and I haven't written him off by any means, but I freely admit I'd hoped he'd be more by this point.

I still like Howden a lot. I think he’s a 3C very soon. That’s my opinion

I was glancing through the THN Yearbook the other day while my wife was shopping (yes they still publish those things).

It was interesting to see how they were higher on some guys than I expected, and not as high as on others. I found that it reflected many of the conversations out and about in the league.

For example, Howden was one of the guys they were significantly higher on than I would've expected. Their basic synopsis was that the offense is coming in the next year or so.

Mercy me, them some big forwards. Only 2 below 6'1 and one of them is Panarin. I knew we would have a big and skilled roster, but seeing it on paper like that gets me giddy.

Howden actually seems like the type of player / development curve you want to pick up after his first team gives up on him.

strength IMO is his biggest issue and that will come as he grows into a man. He’s close. Needs more from his wingers too. Not exactly like Kakko was helping him and vice versa last year

If Miller can hack it with Trouba that makes for an exciting top 4...

It's probably asking too much for him to step in and perform but we'll see...to some extent he just needs to be steady and that pair can more share top duties with Lindgren-Fox rather than having to be THE top pair. Give DeAngelo and Johnson soft minutes that they'll need to survive. Then maybe if Miller continues to grow into the role we see more of a strong 1st pairing emerge.

Or we'll see some good games from him, some struggles, and he'll go down to the AHL for the year

Howden lacks vision and pace at the NHL, not just strength. Sometimes it seems to click but often he seems to be a step behind the play mentally and it's obvious when attempted passes end up 5 feet behind the person he's passing to and he runs out of space and gets checked because he takes too long to make a decision with the puck.
Maybe that's something that comes with more time and development, or maybe he just needs to focus on playing a straightforward game and stop trying to be a puck distributor. I just find the idea that "he just needs more strength!" to be laughable considering how behind the play and lost he has looked at times in the NHL

So this is another thing that comes up when talking to people.

There's no denying Chytil's underlying numbers are better, or that he is the more skilled player with the higher upside. That's a given.

But, one of the things I hear from people outside the organization is how despite those differences, and despite Chytil being given...at least little more to work with, the actual production/results doesn't feel as far apart as it should.

It really does lead to some interesting conversations between them.

21 year old second year player looks behind at times in the nhl? That’s not a news story brother.

How could I forget him? Loved his game. So sad to see him traded for half a season of Mike Dunham (plus we threw in Marek Zidlicky).

Kloucek was never really the same after his knee was destroyed, he never stood out in Nashville either as I recall. Dunham was pretty lights out at first and the Rangers desperately needed a goalie. Sather rode Dunham into the ground the next season though instead of getting a reliable backup and for a guy with an injury history that Dunham had it was probably predictable that playing him to death was going to result in another injury, and once again Dunham never really recovered after that
