  • We're expeting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.

So yea, people were wrong to think it was just “quarantining”. It’s an injury like i thought. The day to day has slowly turned into a week.

This is gonna seem petty, but the way that K’Andre update was worded really annoys me.

They said it like we already knew he was out. Actually, we didn’t, because we haven’t gotten any f***ing information this training camp.

Vince actually seems to do a great job. But give us some context FFS.

Didn't Howden get off to a pretty good/decent start last year and he got worse and worse?

He may take the next step forward, or he could look good in a shortened season. Either way no one is giving him the benefit of the doubt until he does it for more than a regular season.

Remember we need people to step up on the PK, so even if only improved in that area it could be a big win.

He had an earlier tweet that said K'Andre was out for practice today.

He was being sarcastic.

But that usually requires a decent rookie season. Howden didn't really have one.

Last year was more like a Sophomore dump.

Seriously @Leetch3 how did you not pick that up?

Anyway, sophomore slump is always relative to rookie performance. If he has that 3rd year improvement, he’ll be a decent bottom 6er.

Yeah, could be an injury, I am sure he has been skating in Sweden. But it’s perfectly possible that it’s a cold/flu too right? Could certainly be Covid, not that it’s a big deal for a young athlete (most players I’ve heard from have had little to no symptoms).

Let’s say it is Covid related for arguments sake.

True that younger and in shape athletes can have a much less severe or no symptoms at all - that is - normally noticeable by doctors or even the athlete themselves.

However there are many pro athletes who have access to some cutting edge physiological technologies, such as Whoop bracelets (kind of like a Fitbit on steroids) that measure cardiovascular levels, sleep patterns, recovery data, etc.

It’s possible that this data could provide some underlying issue that could either alarm an athlete of a coming positive test or issues with recovering from a seemingly asymptotic response.

Interesting read about it below. Not saying this is what is going on (I am no doctor I just play one on TV) just felt the need to share:

Sometimes someone is exposed to a person with COVID, the test comes back negative, but they are still dealing with...feeling less than 100 percent for lack of a better term.

And, generally speaking, that might lead to an abundance of precaution.

The only line Howden should be centering should be in my rec game next week
Clearly zero bias, given the username.

I'm not the biggest Howden fan but man this guy for a 22 year old gets a lot of unwarranted hate. From all accounts he is having a pretty decent camp thus far, let's see how he does in his 3rd NHL season before the pitchforks come out?

I actually love this kid as a 12th forward. I believe he can be a "barely not negative asset" in the NHL, so if the front office, coaching staff, and teammates think of this kid as a 12th forward, then I'm actually a fan. We can fix everything else that needs fixing before we "fix Howden." If everyone in the organization still loves him in 5 years, there's literally zero down-side to having him on a one-way contract at 27 to be a 13th forward. He's a non-issue.

Really happy that Buch has looked great in camp, but... "Breakout camp"? lmao, let's see how it translates to games.

Agreed. That's true for a lot of our guys - positive and negative.

We’re not even talking about preseason games, we’re talking about scrimmages. Probably don’t want to get too up or too down right now.

We're talking about camp, not preseason games, not preseason game, we're talking about camp.
