I'm not Edge obviously but I honestly just think Kakko was nowhere near ready for the NHL and we were all kind of caught off guard by that. We were told he was ready and he looked good in the WC against NHLers, etc, but it became very obvious he wasn't quite ready for the pace and lack of space in the NHL versus the Finnish league and bigger international ice. He was used to having a bit more time, and he didn't have to attack the puck the way you have to in the NHL. So...it was a big damn adjustment I think and as he makes that adjustment I think we'll see things come a lot easier/better for him. Learning when to make time and when to move the puck, how to deal with NHLers closing on you quickly, etc.

I just think that was a huge change for him that a lot of us discounted. The Finnish league isn't bad but it's still a big step up in skill and a huge change in style and he was still just 18
Imagine if he had to adjust from Finnish league to the old Boston Gaaahden. That ice was so small, especially blue line to blue line if I recall.

The Rangers take the Broadway moniker too far. It’s becoming less about giving fans hockey content, and more about giving us curated access to celebrities plying their craft.

The layout of MSG is something I hate with a passion. Creating a literal distance between your players and your fans by not having seats all the way to the glass (which almost every arena in the league has) really doesn't help the disconnect

My only guess on the lack of training camp stuff being shared is that our area is a hot spot and they are limiting the amount of personnel and being overly cautious. Not saying it makes sense but I think this is their mindset.

NJ manages to do it. It really doesn't take much, no one is asking for 4K HD with multiple angles

Right there with you. Pissed me off, actually. Why even bother?
I consider that a major "tease".

Yeah, "click bait" came to mind. It was misleading and the gifs were out of context.

Actually, I thought I saw a cameraman within the shot in one pic they posted at practice. Maybe he was there strictly for b-roll.

Whatever it takes to set up, it needs people in there in order to do it and make it function. If that's the case then they want less people in there. The season starts in a week, there will be plenty of content then.

They’re doing it anyway and have a stream set up for the beat guys, they just don’t want the fans to actually see anything, or so it seems, so the message is more ‘controlled’?

The Ranger's do have seats right up to the glass? Unless you are talking about the few spots where the press goes and the players come in and out.

They have folding chair seats up against the glass. It's a terrible view and very hard to watch the game from there.

No, there are a select no of seats on the glass reserved for special season ticket holders only. I sat there in 2019 during pre-season games because I got the tickets through one of the billet families who reached out to me on Twitter.

There's a walkway separating the normal sections from the glass. The only seats on the glass are foldable chairs. There's only 16 or so of them on either side.

For whatever reason the Rangers have just never seemed that interested into any kind of all access for fans to practices and training camp. Other teams do it but the Rangers, eh, just has never seemed a priority for them for whatever reason.
Maybe they'll find a way to stream tonights scrimmage but I doubt it

So many pitches. So many ideas. So many presentations.

Ah yes you're right... I know the end zones have actual seats up to the glass, but more in the center I forgot about the little walk thing to separate the players/penalty benches from the fans.

They on a shitty Zoom call. I bet they can't see shit.

Our beat writers aren't the best, but they usually have some decent tidbits. A play here, a play there, standouts, etc. This year, its almost nothing. Trying to watch NHL-level play on a grainy-ass Zoom call is next to impossible.

You know not for nothing regarding Mika. He was one of the last ones to get here not sure why although I’m sure it was a good reason but the self quarantine to get into NY is 14 days.

that’s Christmas Eve. He certainly did not get here before Christmas I don’t believe actually from what I’ve heard and read he didn’t get here till around the 30th.

he’s not at the rink getting treatment. So it’s either quarantine or COVID.
