Clearly at least one person does.Does anyone really look at this team (or last years team for that matter) and say that what they are/were missing is/was Zucc?

Imagine the product of Zucc Strome could be....Clearly at least one person does.
Hat trick each game.Imagine the product of Zucc Strome could be....
We were an overtime goal away from the 2nd becoming a 1st, and the 3rd would have been a 1st if Minnesota hadn't offered a 5th year.
What exactly are you harping at?Yeah, you just enjoy staying as loyal fans to mediocrity for eternity then. It will probably be another 50 years before seeing another cup win. I'm glad you're happy with that, because that will make your fandom much easier.
The Henke and Zucc decisions both suck as a fan, but it's the unfortunate reality in a salary cap world. It's not the best comparison, but honoring loyalty - depending how you structure previous contracts - is how you put yourself in permanent cap hell like San Jose. those long-term contracts into their thirties are gonna be killers.I hate the hard Cap, i believe the league and teams are not open or accurate re Hockey Generated Revenue, but in this Cap World, and TDL rental world, trade was ok. And they had offseason to consider reuniting. Love Zucc, wish he could be here, but Cap world means tough calls.
Exactly what I wrote. The window will be closed for a very long time now. What exactly are you harping at?

Agreed. I have no doubt the Rangers would have traded Kreider last year had they known they'd get Laf this year rather than sign him. Of course, you can't evaluate this kind of thing in hindsight. And that signing will be divisive for a while (but I ultimately think it was the right choice for the chemistry of the team and what they knew at the time). The other half of the problem has been the fact that we pay mid-level talent at high end prices because that's where they played for us. Pay Buch as a top line RW and we will be in a world of trouble when Kakko and/or Kravtsov surpass him. Suddenly we have a very expensive 3rd liner.
