I'll be so angry if Koskinen is on the team next season.

I don't think he will be. After trying to get Markstrom last year, he did himself zero favors with Holland this year with his play.

If he's not part of a Keith deal, I think he'll either be bought out or given permission to seek a deal back in the K and mutually agree to terminate. Yes he's leaving a lot of money on the table this way but its clear he's lost confidence throughout the org for the contract he has and I doubt another NHL team will take him on. I have more faith in Stalock being the backup than him.

That Keith rumour was diceyyyyy. I really, really though Holland was going to bite hard (still could I guess)

Holland so far has changed my view from Holland Pessimism to Holland neutral with the Nuge signing and the holding off on Keith.
I hope a lot of us have learned that Holland is a decent GM. We’ve never had one… ever I think

Debrusk - McDavid - Pulujarvi
Nuge - Draisaitl - Yamamoto
Tatar - ???Glendening??? - Kassian
Benson McLeod Archibald
Shore

Nurse Barrie
Keith Larsson
Samorkov Bouchard
Russell

Kuemper or Ullmark
Smith

Looks like a legit NHL lineup. If Benson don’t crack it this year, it’s time to trade hin

Really hope we grab Hamilton instead of Keith or Barrie. Prefer him over Larsson too. Perfect 1RD. Grab a cheap 2LD.

Hamilton won't come here and if he does look at how Carolina fans talk about him. He's not a solid dman in his own zone why would you pick him up if he's going to be more of what Barrie brought at likely double the price.

I'd like to target Dumba, brings that offense but is significantly more of a physical presence. Bomb of a shot to. Dumba-Larsson-Bouchard on the RHS is what I want to see.

Can we stop this myth that:
1) Hamilton is the same as Barrie offensively
2) Hamilton is just as bad as Barrie defensively

Both these are just completely wrong.

Oilers need to develop their own Hamilton - i.e. Bouchard, Samorukov and/or Broberg need to emerge as an elite defenceman - to go along with Nurse. The panic about winning a cup in the next 3 years or McDavid will leave is hyperbolic. If the Oilers make the playoffs every year and have at least one strong run (say one Conference Finals appearance), I would fully expect McDavid and Draisaitl to stay until the job is done. See the Washington Capitals before they finally won.

Resigning Nurse is hugely important too. If he'd do an extension at 7.5M x 7-8 years - do it now, get it done. Keep this core together and build your way up towards a Championship.

It's not so much about them staying for me as it is taking advantage of the fact that they are unlikely to be as productive in three to five years as they are right now.

Either way there's NO reason to not consider this the most important window. Absolutely nothing about the Oilers suggests they should be building for 3 years from now.

Did Holland say something about Keith?

No, just lots of smoke from the usual suspects in the media. Just seemed like something the old oil Mgmt would be all over.
I have no problem with picking up Keith, as long as Neal is going the other way. If not then I'd rather just shoot Neal into the moon and pick up Oleksiak or Murray.

I got all kinds of time for a Nurse - Dumba pairing.

Can anyone go through this?? I don’t have an account

It wasn't an article. It's the responses to a pretty lame survey they put out last week. The respondents like Holland, they're fine with Tippett, they're meh on Henderson, they hate Bob Nicholson. And fans are always dumb when it comes to possible targets. Always the best possible option at every position. We're getting Hamilton, Hall, Danault, Goodrow and Dreidger according to the survey.
