Leafs fans are being critical of Marner for his playoffs but he's also coming off a 4th in league scoring season - I don't see it as a sell low.

Some teams might have less interest but the teams that could get it done, the ones with the cap space and assets, are likely rebuilding/retooling and likely not as concerned.

Many of those teams will have internal caps and will be concerned about the bottom line and cash flow/signing bonuses though.

BEYOND reducilous that Leafs fans think the Leafs will be good with Campbell and a SHIT backup for $2M are going to get the job done next season.

THIS fanbase will never learn. Just love losing.

the only thing ridiculous is how badly you botched the word. Campbell is a starter and just needed an opportunity to showcase that. Like you know..every goalie ever.

somebody mentioned that Seth Jones has said he wouldn't sign here long term?
Can anyone find proof of him saying this?

If Toronto trades Marner to get Seth Jones, then I will firmly be on the fire Dubas side.

Owen Power is leaning returning to school over being drafted by Buffalo. I know there’s loopholes for NCAAers. Is it possible for Toronto to get him?

In 4 years he becomes a UFA if he doesn't sign with buffalo

Either we pay for the 1st pick and draft hom

Pay for Powers after Sabres take him 1st overall with his value being still relatively quite high

Wait 4 years and he enters the market as a UFA who can sign a 2 year ELC at age 22

The guys on Overdrive made said something interesting the other day. They said Vegas loaded up on picks and prospects then traded pretty much them all away for good players and look at them. They mentioned maybe Seattle does this to get Jones and maybe somehow make a move for Eichel. Eichel would be a reach because at the moment that 2nd pick is the best they have to offer but who knows what other picks they get.

Am I alone in wanting Rask? Him/Campbell esp when he comes back from the surgery, short term cheaper deal, being hated by Boston when he gave them so much. Maybe we can get some reverse love from the supposed hockey gods?

Rask already said it's Boston or back home to Finland where he owns a team.

"Like I've said before, I'm not going to play for anybody else but the Bruins," Rask said. "This is our home. We have three kids in school here. At this point in my life and career, I don't see any reason to go anywhere else, especially with the health I'm looking at now and a recovery time of five to six months. Hopefully it works out that I recover well and then we can talk about a contract when the time is right for that."

He hasn’t outright said anything about not wanting to play in xxx place, but I think it’s safe to assume with his political leanings (big trumper/maga Stan) maybe a place as liberal as Toronto (Canada in general) wouldn’t be to his preference

I think first is a decision on Marner, then Hyman, then Rielly assuming the ask from Rielly isn't outrageous.

If you move on from Marner as long as the number is reasonable from Rielly you keep him.

If you keep Marner and let Hyman go you can probably still keep Rielly but the number probably needs to be a little lower.

Sounds like they’ve already made a decision on Marner. Rielly plays a more crucial role than Hyman, so signing him first would be the better bet.

The dudes cooked, having surgery and don't know how motivated he will be to come back to a new team.

Now that I think about it, I think it's Tom Wilson, as one of the posters on here hinted at the other day. This type of exaggerated response about "attitude" and that he is a hardass player who is actually "good" makes me think Tom Wilson. His cap hit is almost exactly what they offered Hyman (5.1). He's got a M-NTC but he's from Toronto and I can see him making the exception.
