Expansion tends to promote that sort of activity. Add in the fact that there's likely some teams still having strong internal budgets in terms of real $$$, and it creates a scenario for plenty of movement.
However, I thought there would be more trade activity leading up to the expansion roster freeze, and we've only gotten Ryan Graves & Nick Leddy trades to bottom feeders lol.
So I dunno, we'll see how many trades Seattle has lined up, soon enough.
Yeah forsure. I expected a bit more movement too. Like I said below in my other response... I think come next Thursday it'll really get going.
I'd still be shocked if Dubas actually traded Marner, Nylander, or even Rielly. It's the only way I really see them doing something big.
That and the upcoming Expansion Draft. The thing is, whoever acquires a player, would have to have assurances that the player would not have to be exposed and or would not be picked in the ED.
I think that's what is holding up trades. I'm guessing a lot more action after Seattle picks and freeze is over. I think Thursday at 12pm?!?
