Hyman is so beloved because he does what he does at 2.25 AAV. Hyman at 5.5-6million AAV comes with a set of expectations I'm not sure he can deliver on. Happy to walk from that.

I've been away from the boards for a while but it's mildly interesting to watch one poster make numerous attempts to troll in this thread while not getting the responses he hoped for because almost everyone has him blocked. Almost like The Winter Soldier re-incarnated.

Rielly isn’t going anywhere, unfortunately. Dubas has a “friend” first mentality as supposed to a “business” mindset.

I really wanna trade Marner and get Forsberg coming back if he'd re sign for around the same amount . Then sign Hall for like 5 mil. Those 2 with Matthews would be a hard line to shutdown and then you got Nylander and Tavares on the other line with hopefully a LW who could play a power game. Have a dominate offensive line that can play a 2 way game and then an offensive grinding line pretty much. 2 lines who could easily control possession of the puck and game.

Thats fine. I don’t necessarily disagree. (Though, Wennberg would be for 3C and Tatar a wing spot, so not sure why they are related)

Just funny that we need playoff performers and the first example is someone who isn’t one, is all
 
If Hyman had more of a Mean streak and more physicality to his game, I would've made the case that maybe he is worth what he's asking for because that's exactly the type of player the Leafs are missing

But the fact of the matter is, he's nowhere near a Josh Anderson type of player. Josh Anderson makes way more impact in the game with his aggressive style of play than Hyman ever did.

Which makes it easy for me to say no to these atrocious reported deals.

Yeah eventually that act gets old, and is pretty embarassing after a while. No need to give attention to it.

I get that, but I wanted to target someone that has some upside. I'd bet on Wennberg having a good playoff run before Tatar at this point.

Landeskog isn’t signing 5.5 with the Avs. No way he signs for less than 7 with the leafs. Hyman was great for the dollars we paid him. North of 4 is a joke.

Yeah, should also add that Staal was playing a regular shift for the entire post-season. But yeah, it's all based on playing style.

I think its starting to look pretty clear that joe "dont't quit yet" thornton will retire as a maple leaf milord. Him being in every picture with his new buddie matthews and since we ain'ts gittin sire andersen back sire, then we will have only two of matthews best friends back in thornton and marner. Hy-man and andersen are gon milord. Thornton, matthews and bieber finna twerk that thang hard this summa, still scoring, WHAT!!!!!!!!
 
I'm treally starting to wonder whom finna get the kuemper... we....... colorado or the seattle krakens. That's a hard one right thurr milord.
