Was bored so decided to go and read the PGT from game 7 vs Habs, game 5 vs CBJ, and game 7 in 2019 vs Bruins.
It's always the same damn things being called out and no matter what it doesn't seem like anything changes.
2019 we faulted Babcock + Kadri + nylander
2020 we faulted injuries+pandemic+Andersen
2021 we are faulting Marner+Matthews
The names are changing/coaches are moving on/newer departments are being formed yet the end result simply does not differ.
3 peak contention years absolutely wasted by this organization.
I have zero clue how this team can fix their problems. I get if it was one or two guys but we change the wheel and someone else just emerges to disappoint the team and lose us a critic game.
I don't see what Dubas can do know. His mistakes and roster building decisions are set and he isn't a flexible or adaptive person. He's sticking to the core and the defensive top 4. He has his coach who deploys systems he believes will win us series.
At this point, I don't know if it's time to send the entire team to a sport psychologist and have them work out what's wrong with them mentally.
This team via the likely/rumored trade/free agency doesn't look to me like one which will be able to beat Boston or Tampa.
The players have to change and sacrifice their lifestyle and playstyles. It's time for commitment to the sport and team. No more short cuts and bad decisions. No more soft plays. No more missing glorious chances and making predictable skill moves.
The players have to mature and win. They're in their primes and have to deliver
