OR teams start low was a negotiation tactic. They don’t start at 10.0 like Dubas does lol

Dubas: We're hoping to get you locked up longterm. What will it take to make it happen?

Marner's Agent: We're looking for 6 years X 10.9M.

Dubas: Did you want that front-loaded, with a NMC, and with an 'A'' attached to the jersey? (Dubas' internal dialoguae - man this contract negotiation thing is easy!).

The thing I got most out of that is them trying to move Kerfoot. Landeskog is still a pipe dream IMO.

But here's hoping someone takes Kerfoot. Trade Engvall after that

The problem is that even if guys like Landeskog, Hamilton, etc want to sign here and are willing to do it for fairly reasonable contracts, we simply do not have the capspace, and moving Kerfoot without spending at least ~$2M on a replacement would just create a massive hole on the 3rd line. If our team isn't balanced now, imagine what it would be like with a 5th forward making big money?

It's probably 7-7.5M to potentially get Landeskog, and that's only if he's legit interested in leaving the contending team that drafted him who he is the captain of to come here.

I don’t think you can pull of a Landeskog deal without dealing one of the big boys. The only alternative is if Tavares is Kucherov’d.

What about marner to columbus for laine sign for around 6 to 7
Korpisalo
And pick or prospect

Then sign hamilton 7 to 8

I think I need to post this daily, whoever signs Hamilton to that 8mill per contract will regret it immediately. There's a reason the 6'6" top pair right shot Defensman is moving on to his 4th team in 9 seasons. Not to mention Rielly is roughly equivalent to regular season Hamilton and massively better than him in the post season AND will sign for less money, so why are we dumping Rielly to bring in this:

Yeah if Rielly will play for only a million more or so just keep him.

I'm not paying Hamilton an extra 1 or 2 million over Reilly to do shit like that. I think there's a reason Hamilton has been traded a few times already.

I know people are dying for a bit of a shakeup but the D wasn't the big issue last season. Yes some young D made bone head plays but you could say that about almost any young D man in the league. The forward group is the biggest issue.

Maybe a bit more sandpaper on the backend but it's time to see what Sandin and Lilly have.

Laine will want more but just to get some cap relief and out from that ugly AAV, I'd seriously consider it. You get your goalie, a QB for the PP and a goal scorer. Makes sense but the Marnites and Dubites won't agree.

Problem is Jackets won't have a goal scorer to play with 16.

If Hamilton is a solution to our PP then sign him and trade Rielly makes sense. Big if though.

As for the kids agree but we need more size and nastiness on the D. Trade them or trade a similar dman to make room.

Oleksiak Hamilton
Muzzin Brodie
Sandin Dermott or Holl

I agree Reilly isn't the answer on the powerplay. He's alright on the 2nd pp.

There has to be the other options on 1st line powerplay though. Malhotra didn't do a good job. I hope he figures it out. There is way to many good players to not be way better on the powerplay.

Not against moving one of the young D if they aren't going to play them anyway.

Trading Hyman's rights would be a smart move if the intent isnt to re-sign him. Stocking up on draft picks that we already have very little of this draft is the way to go.

May be able to get a 3rd for his rights. If it gets into a bidding war it can be higher.

Shanny and The Dube have really painted themselves into a corner. This offseason should determine their futures with this organization. I've given my support in the past but that's gone now. We've been shedding talent every year with no returns at all. There should be no more free passes with this management group.
