Too bad you can't teach faceoffs. A shame.

Is his production any better than Holmberg? Holmberg's 5v5 production with hard zone starts are pretty promising 2 games in.
Or, the other thing, I would simply demote Holmberg to 4C and look to trade Kampf.

I'd pick him up to play wing and maybe add another layer to the PK and bottom lines. He's more or less a more expensive Dewar though.
If Leafs want to trade Liljegren, maybe a swap makes sense but we are definitely heavy with forwards. Something like Liljegren and Abruzzese for Cates and maybe a depth defenseman might work?
If he is horrible on face-offs why not use him as a winger?
So far this year, Holmberg is ...

I'd almost rather a 2nd or 3rd+4th for Liljegren because it's currency for later this year if a better/more interesting name came up.
Face offs can take a while, the previous 2 years, Holmberg wasn't even 50% on face offs, he was bad, you can get better at them.
What about vatrano
He would be great center depth
What would the cost be
He is listed as a center on puckpedia
They could.SJ seems like a team that should/would have interest in someone like Liljegren.
Domi was great on face offs last year , don’t know why they aren’t trying that more , have two of domi , jt or nylander as your middle six C

While moving him would create cap space, it puts further question marks over the center spot. And to be fair to Kampf, I thought he was the best center last night.Kampf to highest bidder once Dewar is ready.
Chicago too........SJ seems like a team that should/would have interest in someone like Liljegren.

Jarnkrok, while useful himself, is a winger and may even yield a better return due to cap hit and term.
Moving Kampf may be a thing, but they need to add another C first IMO.
If SJ would take on Kampf then I'd go after Sturm and then try and get a 2nd round pick and maybe another pick for Lili in there. Free up like 3 mil in cap and get a good 4th line C who is very good on the draw and can PK and get more picks for next year. They could.
Not sure what I'd want back.
If Berube liked Kostin in STL, that may fit.
Yep. He seems fine for a bottom of the barrel team to take a gamble on
Question is what (if anything?) the Leafs are going to try and get for him. A pick, maybe a cheaper depth player?
Say what you want about Liljegren, I think Berube is showcasing Timmins, who I think has value if he can remain healthy (and we won’t know about that unless he’s played), while trying to replace the ‘fear’ Lily developed by being coached by Keefe. It may be Keefes biggest failing with respect to player development. TL’s first year when In the show - I remember a kid who improved every game from Nov - March, and after a couple of weak games Keefe pulled him. It never reconnected for TL, and imo, Keefe’s fault. Even last year when he played well when Rielly was down, there was no rope. I have no idea if correct, but if Lily gets angry enough at Berube, and ditches the fear of mistakes, he’ll return to the type of defenceman we have seen and saw promise from. Where it goes from there is anyone’s guess.
