I’d be happy with Gourde + Tanev + Oleksiak
No idea what to send them…
Robertson + Domi + 2nd +++ ?

Come on brother you strongly believe that this is an upgrade?I’d be happy with Gourde + Tanev + Oleksiak

Can’t see Robertson on our playoff roster. Rather have Tanev’s tenacity hitting and shot blocking.Come on brother you strongly believe that this is an upgrade?
Gourde vs Domi
Tanev vs Robertson
We dont upgrade at all, its a pointless move, not trying to be rude
I do like Oleksiak, I'd give a 2nd + Timmins for him but obviously other players would have to be moved for Tanev's cap and the remaining 1.5M from this trade
No way Boston deals him to us…unfortunately….Is Boston selling? If so Charlie Coyle would be a decent target.
Which one?How did that Parayko rumor get started? That one was pretty funny.
The one where people on this board posted about acquiring him...No way Boston deals him to us…unfortunately….
Which one?
Shutdown C with grit and one of Tortorella's favourite players on his team. He's also a Toronto boy who is dying to play here (I know his father personally).Can you explain to me what you like about Laughton? What is he going to bring to our roster that upgrades him from guys like Domi, Kampf, Robertson, Pacioretty?
Please dont say hits because he only averages 2-per game and every player mentioned can match those numbers in the playoffs.
Can we give up on Laughton, Hathaway retained sure....but please i dont want too see another Clarkson, & Laughton will be worse.
Not to mention the asking price, makes me sick....we could get someone with a lower cap hit or the same, younger and more skill by adding another pick or prospect
Outside of the big name, expensive deadline additions. I think at least one of these inexpensive forward additions are primed to become a Leaf. Two if they can't do anything fancy.
Gourde, Kunin, Tanev, Krebs and Donato
Valid points, Tortz is a hard ass and demands his players play a full two way game....if the guy is truly passionate about playing for the blue and white and will do whatever it takes to win, sure id be willing to upgrade him with Domi regardless of his offensive numbers not being anywhere close to Max, we do need gritt in the bottom 6 just not for a first round pick unless its someone like Tolvanen, he hits more and blocks more shots, younger and will surpass both guys in points....probably the closest player out there to someone like B.Tkachuk.Shutdown C with grit and one of Tortorella's favourite players on his team. He's also a Toronto boy who is dying to play here (I know his father personally).
The only thing I'm not sold on is if he's playing full time C on the Flyers or if he's more of a winger right now. If he's a better C than Domi I want him.
Doesn't Gourde average less ppg vs Domi and if im not mistaken he has less hits & averages 1min more in icetime.Gourde and Tanev, both at 50% retention, would be pretty good boosts to the lineup. Problem becomes... what's the price? They'd have a total cap hit just under 4.5M. You'd also have to pawn off Kampf, or a combination of other players, to them or another team if you're lucky as well.
The Panthers and Lightning have 6M+ to spend at the deadline, so they're about to chase similar players the Leafs probably want.
Another name I think could make sense in terms of being inexpensive is Mark Jankowski. Low offense but good metrics on a bad team. Could be a good buy low option to replace Kampf.
Meh, guy has similar stats to Domi and costs an additional 1.250M....they can have him, bonus points if they overpay
He's another Laughton, so many good players available...hard pass from me
Man if team's are asking such high prices for players of this caliber why hasn't management moved Domi?? And if his cap is an issue get another team to retain on the deal for picks.
These guys will all have the same effect on anyone's bottom6, id argue Domi and Gourde are more valuable in the sense that they can create more offense and dont get scored on as much, Laughton only averages 2-hits per game and thats his strong point....something both guys can match come playoffs, but can a guy like Laughton produce the same offense...thats a hard no
If all three players are retained 50% Domi's in the middle at 1.875M but he has the longest term and at that caphit he's a steal....so shouldn't his value be similar to these guys?
Thats what they said about Marner, and look at him now.....actually if you watch early clips of Robertson when we first called him up the guy was a wrecking ball and extremely physical on the puck, too be honest I think he lost passion and felt betrayed....im sure he was promised things that management never fulfilled on, but it looks like he's really trying to turn shit around....like i mentioned sure his points suck but he's done everything right given the role management gave him.....and its very limited, how would you feel though seeing a guy like Knies get every chance while you sit down in the AHL or pressbox, yeah it would suck and kill alot of your motivation.....especially when his brothers out there popping offRobertson is too easily knocked off the puck. When the intensity is amped up come playoff time he’ll be even worse.
This is a surprise. I thought he was out for another few weeks. I still think TBL and FLA goes hard after him and B. Tanev.

Good post brother!notable foward before being traded by stanley cup winner since 2016
reg before trade ---playoff impact
tarasenko 59 pts ----> 31 pts
Barbashev 40 pts pace ---> 67 pts
Lehkonen 41 pts ---> 57 pts
coleman carreer high 44 pts ---> 43 pts
goodrow 32 pts ----> 20 pts
hagelin 23 pts ----> 55 pts
If you're only watching stats, you're missed something. Tarasenko had been best producer foward when traded and only Goodrow been worst in playoff.
You don't make move for stats but for what the player can bring different and how he can complete your team
I haven't had a good look at those two organizations but I'm pretty sure Florida is lacking trade chips, Tampa wasn't exactly flush with them either a season or two ago as well
If we put a decent prospect plus this year's second (Danford + 2nd or Minten + 2nd) can those teams beat that?
What about Byram from BUF? Fun to dream!I think Donato could be had for a reasonable price. Would solidly our 3C spot.
Bid hard for Carlo. If we can’t get him, add Ristolainen.
Dump Reaves.
Try and get a late picks for Dewar, Kampf, Timmins, Benoit, if we need the room.
I would be happy with something like this. Would like bigger additions, but not sure it’s there this year.
Connor Clifton would be decent without breaking the bank or prospect pool.I think Donato could be had for a reasonable price. Would solidly our 3C spot.
