hopefully he's not riding his bike from baltimore to Toronto. We need him before next Friday.
It's absolutely nuts how insane the trade deadline has been. So many sellers and teams that are winning the division/WC are just loading up more and more. Jays basically seems to be the only exception so far.
multiple prospects heading back which i think is weird
astros payroll was really, REALLY low tho, i think below a million? or was it 10 million.
Why is that weird? Carlos Gomez is under contract for another year and Fiers is cheap and under control. It should cost the Astros a ton to get those guys.
Below 20m a couple years back or something? They can retain or extend any big name they have. Good trade for the Astros. Phillips is a good get for the Brewers too, guy is nasty.
To #Brewers: Brett Phillips, Domingo Santana, Josh Hader, Adrian Houser.
Wow Astros are getting Carlos Gomez and Fiers. Already traded for Kazmir before and now this. They're loading up big time.
That looks like a pretty solid package though I don't really understand why Brewers pushed to sell on Carlos Gomez when he is having a down year. Might have been better off keeping him, let him have a big year next season when he is healthy and get a big haul in return.
Still, its not like they did bad here and this is a move that makes sense for Astros. Screw the prospects, they have a good young team and they get guys that can help them this season and for next year. This is their window and they're taking advantage of it.
I'm not saying I agree with this view because I am high on Carlos Gomez, but I could see how a team could be down on him moving forward. He is a player that is heavily reliant on speed, and defense, and those things tend to decline at his age. Especially with the concerns about his hip. I still think his improved bat the last two and a half seasons offset that though.
Why is Colo batting cleanup? Do we need another bat? Strange
So, apparently there's going to be some audio released with Loria and Samson making derogatory comments about a player.
Boy, Marlin fans better hope like hell this is true and that this becomes Donald Sterling 2.0.
well before Boras comes here and denies this....That looks like a pretty solid package though I don't really understand why Brewers pushed to sell on Carlos Gomez when he is having a down year. there are concerns Gomez will need hip surgery. His power and SB numbers are down big time....not the same Gomez as the past two seasons.
