I fully agree with the idea of going all-in. But wouldn't it make more sense to go all-in when you're not seven games back in your division?

Detroit's only 1.5 games behind us!

I would agree with you if it wasnt such a GLARING hole we are patching with one slick move.

We desperately desperately need starting pitching. Our lineup is dirty, relief is okay, bench/position players are okay, but our starting was missing a quality arm.

We traded a great prospect, but we got an amazing pitcher to fill a slot.

This alone will probably get us into the playoffs, let alone win.

a winning streak can change things significantly. Yankees have been playing great but are due for a slump at some point. We just need to focus on winning ball games and before you know it we could be within a game or two.

Jays are +134 in run differential compared to Detroit so its fair to see why AA would think he's better off.

They're 14 games above .500 and 6 games up on second. The second biggest lead of any divisonal leader in the Majors.

Tough to say that.

Team with pitching issues going forward and an aging roster. The dog days are just starting, there's no guarantee they'll continue. Plus now they have someone coming in the rear view mirror.

Really?

One game playoff and they Jays have David Price to pitch it for them.

That's exactly how you justify getting him.

Absolutely, not to mention the shot of excitement sent to the Club House this week.
I would expect to see them go on a bit of a run now.

I posted it before, I will post it again.

Since the Sanchez injury the 5th spot in the Jays rotation is 2-9, with an ERA over 7.00 and averaging 4 innings per start.

That's what Price will be replacing.

The potential impact his presence can have over the next 60 games is enormous.

The Jays have the best run differential in the majors. The difference has been our poor luck in 1-run games. Adding an ace like Price should definitely help. I still think adding another quality SP, and an elite closer are needed. But that's what would put us as World Series favorites.

You guys are funny re the Yankees. The thing is they have a much better record than the Jays. The facts. Easier to play from their position. We have certainly increased our odds of a possible WC. 7 games is a lot to make up.
