I truly believe that Dubas set this team back. He wasted the hand he was dealt. The contracts, coaching, culture, wasted assets…

I just want a complete culture change for the Leafs. I want them to be like Vegas where the number of priority is winning.
The entire roster needs an overhaul for that too happen.

Agreed. Another first round exit and I hope they just clean house from management down to the players.

Asking JT to waive his NMC should be on the table. Telling Marner to f*** off should be on the table. Keefe should be no where near this team.

Meh, he didn't improve nor degrade what was here IMO. He made some very bad moves, and he made a few very good ones. He drafted very well. The issue to me is too many of the same type of player. We'll see what happens over the next couple of years.

Honestly its the Tavares contracts. If we don't win a stanley cup in the next 3-5 years and waste Mathews/Marner/Nylander prime...Im blaming it on Tavares

That contract could've been divided into 3-4 good players to round out the roster and we would have a lethal team to show for it. Instead we're garbage bin diving every off-season to cater to our 4

I really feel like Carolina is the team here. They have both the picks and the prospects to get this done if they want

Vegas is bless with LTIR and high end draft picks, while Tor barely has any high end draft pick and we used up all the LTIR space.
The Leafs have spent $41M on their top 4 salaries and LV spent $30M. Learn on the job 33 year old GM built a club using NHL 2018 as his guide and the replacement Tree has continued that path because it has worked so well. No cap space means no top tier UFAs and spending picks to address cap mismanagement. Doubling down on mistakes is the the gift that keeps on giving. Kind of like giving a coach infinite chances to succeed in the playoffs. The Knights expect success for their money. The Leafs don't seem to have any sense of urgency. The Shanaplan:laugh:

Love what Vegas is doing. Loading up thanks to LTIR shenanigans

Doesn't Tavares have a nagging injury?!?
JT will go down mid way next year, so we can re-sign the player(s) we bring in at the end of the season after JT comes off the books.

This year would be wasted assets. Maybe next year Cowan and the gang bring back Dobson or something like that.

You mean incredible luck. I’m not saying these injuries are being faked but what are the chances Mark Stone has 2 major injuries near the TDL 2 years in a row? And now Martinez? It’s wild.
Yeah what are the chances ....

Really though you have to wonder sometimes.

That's true, you have to be lucky to be successful.

But no doubt Vegas has a management group willing to take full advantage. They don't care about anyone's feelings.

The LTIR has to stop.

Just have a soft cap or no cap. It's about 10 teams pulling the league anyway.

Holy f***.

I get growing the game but Leafs would be f***ing stacked with no cap or paying luxury taxes.

The league needs some fresh ideas.
The Leafs have more salary on LTIR than any team other than Tampa (only because of Sergachev's recent injury).

Still changes nothing about what I said.

Most teams can't do that.

It waters down the league having a team play in mullet arena...
