This is the Bruins all in year. I'm pretty sure the team is going nuts because this is Bergeron's swan song.

Next season will be leafs, an even weaker TB because of the Sergachev extension, and maybe Buffalo. Toronto can easily find it's way out of the Atlantic at least for 1st round.
That's why Knies/1st must be kept....
Add a physical forward and a big D at most

Next year add top 6 in Free Agency

Sportnet did a great article about hol

-Holl still the d who played the most on 1 of best defensive team in NHL
-no body started most defensive faceoff
-only brodie played a tougher matchup than hol
-lead team with pk min with one lower ( if not lower) pp goal against/60
-was 31 th in the NHL( jan 5) for D-zone denial
-he’s was 11th in the NHL in denials that are immediately followed by a zone exit
-Holl is seventh in the league among D in “exit success on under-pressure dump-in recoveries,” in a clump of names between Jaccob Slavin and Drew Doughty.

I dont know what you really expecting more for a 2M dman

I expect he'll be getting a raise, and it'll be with the Leafs.

I think it was pretty clear from my post but I'll break it down for you.

I want someone who plays a different style than Justin Holl does.

If that is going to be the current regime's plan moving forward, then they are not the vision needed to help this team get to the next level.

If the plan is to re-sign Holl, at a raise no less, in order to improve our defence, which clearly needs improving, then it means we are getting rid of Sandin to do so, which is just plain dumb.

Gio is going on 40 years old, and Brodie is getting there as well. Sandin will be an important part of our defence as soon as next season.

Our defence is simply not good enough, and Holl is the one with the lowest ceiling. Analytics might love him, but he fails the eye test over and over again. He does not think the game fast enough, and he is always the weakest link and targetted in the playoffs. He panics and rushes, and is the cause of turnovers when he does.

If our Team truly wants to improve, Holl is moved on from, and we really do improve. On RHD, we have Liljegren, Brodie and Timmins, with Niemala and Villeneuve in the pipeline and probably 2 years away. There are better RHD options available right now who are being paid what Holl will command, and with term left, that will allow Timmins, Niemala and Villeneuve to continue to develop.

It is so obvious what needs to happen here, that if management can't see it and execute on it, then we will continue to fail until they are replaced.

The inability of Keefe and Dubas at times is maddening. Loyalty is great, but we have too many passengers to be an elite team, it would appear. Moving on from Kerfoot and Holl should not be this damn hard. We've won nothing and they aren't going to put us over the top on anything.

So Liljegren and two guys you can't trust to stay healthy for the season. Great!

And I can't believe this has to be said, but Justin Holl is a better hockey player than Connor Timmins. And it's not close right now. You give him Holl's defensive responsibilities and you'd be running Timmins out of town very quickly.

I may guess it’s Kuzmenko

Sometimes you gotta wonder what our "Russian whisperer" is thinking. They bring over Barabanov from the 2019-20 St. Petersburg SKA as this big UFA experiment but somehow missed on defenseman Artem Zub and Andrei Kuzmenko who were both on the same team, who were both younger and more productive.

I would imagine its something to do with player appetite./ availability. I believe they both signed with NHL teams at the same age.

Maple leafs daily news at Facebook. They even posted a picture of it and it has text. Its in Facebook at maple leafs daily news. Cant link it.
Dubas was at the Canucks game.
This guy Aaron (that's literally all his name is as the article author) jumped to "A trade between the Maple Leafs and Canucks is likely already done."

Dubas has admittedly taken in a couple of Canucks games already this season, but I wouldn't read much into this guy's facebook post.

Ok sire. Glad you found it and now we know that he might be just speculating. Lets see if something goes down during the next 72h. If not, it might be a hoxe.

So you’ve deliberately chosen to ignore the part where I said to add better RHD options than Holl to push your narrative.

I can’t believe this has to be said, but try reading what someone has written before you spout off. Carry on though.

There 32 team in NHL, the fact leafs get zaitsev, mikkheyev, barabanov over kuzmenko, zub doesn't mean they didn't try to get kuzmenko or Zub.. maybe they try for both but those player just choose a team they tought it would be a better fit...

Pagnotta so a grain of salt required, but he mentions we're looking at ROR/Barbashev

Also said he wouldn't be surprised if we made a couple additions come TDL day. This is the 2nd reporter who has said this, CJ is the other IIRC

To be fair I can't think of a deadline where we only added 1 single piece, there's always minor trades on top of the main target.
